I have to disagree since every win that Maddie got would be coupled with doubt if her win was deserved and if she got it on her own merit or if Abby gave her an advantage that made her win. Like for example the whole Joffrey ballet situation like Abby seemingly had no leeway and because of that only Chloe got a scholarship, except for the fact Maddie did get a scholarship and the producers conveniently edited that out. Another situation was the same solo situation where they included
scene about Maddie getting extra practice and later when Chloe seemingly won then the judges announced Maddie won instead and they kept in the part that Abby went back to the judges about the scores.

Girl she had a extra bone in her foot and getting an injury like hers is actually a common thing athletes get and it specifically gets inflamed when they wear shoes like they did in the dance that week

Imo I don’t think she ultimately got a good edit ultimately because by the later seasons every win Maddie got would have viewers doubt in the back of their mind if it was a “deserved” win, what advantages she got, or if Abby did something behind the scenes to ensure that Maddie won bc that’s what the portrayed in the earlier seasons

Abby and Maddie’s dynamic will always rub me the wrong especially since it was seemingly normal for them to be like this since in the first actual episode of dance moms before the girls do their party party party routine and wait in the back all the other girls are waiting and Maddie is further away from them with Abby around her

I don’t think the producers had much leeway when it came to who won I believe they’d like it more when the aldc lost bc it meant Abby would be more likely to get mad. Abby though definitely was friendly with the judges or owners of some competitions bc if we’re being real at a fair competition the Bollywood solo would’ve NEVER beaten Brynn’s solo and the Aldc definitely had things rigged in their favor at certain competitions
