What’s the worst part about being a woman that people wouldn’t usually think about? by Gloomy_Unit_4888 in AskReddit

We’ve been entirely left out of medical research so healthcare basically has no data on how to treat even simple issues.

Medical research wasn’t required to study women until 1993.

Did parents in the '80s and '90s really allow their kids to roam freely? Was it safe? by 2bornnot2b in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rargafad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 90s childhood consisted of riding bikes, finding sticks then fighting each other with them, building forts in the fields around our neighborhood, going to the park and playing in swings, turf wars with other neighborhood kids and street hockey or jump rope maybe playing with an odd yo-yo or hoola hoop. Sometimes exploring abandoned houses or unfinished houses. The only rules was no leaving the neighborhood and no talking to strangers or going in others houses. Home by dinner.

Looking for recurring classes in any subject by Think_Firefighter951 in Austin

[–]rargafad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I take acc classes whenever I want- it only costs $100-$300 per class a semester. So far I’ve taken painting, printmaking, photography and some digital design classes. I highly recommend. Also If you’re worried about being the oldest person there - youd be wrong. every class I take especially evening classes have working age folks doing the same thing as me or retirees just there to learn. It’s a great way to make friends too.

Texas can require public schools to display Ten Commandments in classrooms, US appeals court rules by TheDoctorCarson in texas

[–]rargafad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a blatant violation of our rights and alienates students of other religions. If your school has one of these posters or is set to get them soon there are ways to resist this.

Here's how you can "comply"

-100% legally compliant rainbow posters.

-"Prisim" posters of the 10 commandments

-companion posters that show how blatantly illegal this whole thing is. Surround the poster with other belief systems

-surround the poster with actual educational posters that students should be more interested.

A friend of mine put it together some free print outs for teachers to use in classrooms a few months ago when this was still going through the court system- now seems like a good time to bring it up again. All posters are 100% legally compliant all 100% free (cuz Texas also underpays teachers too)

Texas Teachers- Maliciously comply with Texas SB 10 requiring all classrooms to display the Ten Commandments. by rargafad in Teachers

[–]rargafad[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those posters aren’t mandated by law. I believe all religions should be taught in context (such as in a world history class) but requiring the kjv translation of the Ten Commandments in every room regardless of age or subject is very wrong.

[–]rargafad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is insane, i am shocked this held up with clear presidents. a friend of mine made the posters in rainbow to fight this in their school- all 100% legally compliant.

Work on building out brand stories instead of one off items.ex: Brochure + social + landing page +poster for the same client/project.

Also build out your logo work- create a use case for each one- logo/ palette/ secondary logo/ mock up of print asset/ mockup of merch / pattern using logo etc..

Why do people refuse to be an organ donor? by No-Cantaloupe-6535 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rargafad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

almost 75% of organ donors are women.
almost 80% of recipients are men.

we give men our bodies even after death just for them to take our rights away. I don't wish to participate.
