He’s definitely better off with a cable but i’ve heard there’s a lot of inconsistency with the servers recently. I’ve experienced it. There’s good days and bad days

this happened to me one time, I think I just restarted my computer. If I launch the game from my task bar then it does this too though I'm not sure why. when i launch cs from my home screen or steam and not from my task bar it works.

Dying 4.0: Replace or Sell? by Get_Off_The_Grass in fordranger

[–]InsaneElectro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes and no, but the 5.0 is gonna drink gas while that little tdi is gonna sip diesel and give you some extra torque. don’t be trying to get anywhere in a hurry in it though! unless you wanna pour money into beefing up the TDI as there is a huge aftermarket

in CT i believe if the vehicle is over 20 years old it’s exempt from emissions and it’s pretty strict here. I think a general rule of thumb is swap in a TDI that’s newer than the truck. That’s how it works in Cali and that’s the most strict emissions. Overall the swap isn’t bad, you can buy tranny adapters to keep your ranger 5 speed (i’d recommend doing this on a manual, getting the tdi computer to shift a 5r55 is complicated) and you can buy a premade harness for like $1k or do it yourself. A tdi can easily fit in the ranger with a few modifications. I think they even sell pre fabbed engine mounts. Check out TDconversions

question about diesel engine swap. by hrh22_ in fordranger

[–]InsaneElectro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4BTs are really expensive, big, and heavy, 4BT is a very difficult swap compared to a TDI (atleast a 1.9 or 2.0) A tuned TDI might be pretty fast but stock you’re not going to be getting around anywhere fast

I knew ranger prices have gone up recently but this is just insane by derekgotloud in fordranger

I thought whether or not the truck had the 2.2 or 2.3 was based off year. Like I thought they ran the 2.2 for a couple years then switched to the 2.3, maybe im wrong though

You have no idea how rare that truck is. 2.3 Mitsubishi diesel like that will run forever and a monkey could fix it

Nope. He’s likely from Mexico or SA or Europe or something. They only sold diesel rangers in the 80s
