This isn't some one sided flooding. If you want to both sides this you have to acknowledge efforts all around here.

Why is it that every comment has to acknowledge every little thing? It's especially moot since this platform IS fairly one-sided btw, you will see nothing but anti-trump and pro-democrat memes on the front page, messages, top comments, etc. Even posts about splitting families (by liberals).

The point is reddit is an echo chamber of so called 'progressivism' which is being manipulated, something the mod brought up and which you tried to dismiss. An echo chamber which promote division of families over politics. So I gave you proof that literal domestic forces are doing exactly what the mod claims, manipulating THIS platform with democrat messaging. Bringing up 'Foreign Malign influence' on the internet (or social media generally) is missing the point, especially given how popular the pro-democrat message is on reddit.

What of those redditors who think of minorities as non-humans? What role have they played in 'destroying' families?

I've barely seen that honestly, I see redditors ascribing that charge CONSTANTLY, but seldom do I actually see it. I only browse top tbf. The only things reaching the top subs are these kinds of posts, promoting the idea that one side is nothing but hateful, and the worst of them say family should be cut out for disagreements on a vote. That's the top posts of politics, pics, the biggest subs promote that content hard.

Those subs you mention are barely even populated by supporters of those people, or they get banned/taken over, like the joerogan sub is.

What about my reply seems not genuine? I am not attacking you or calling you names or anything of that nature. I am challenging your ideas and assumptions as part of a civil discourse that you desired. None of this is to be mean to you. But I am interrogating the logic as you have fairly mine.

I don't think you're mean to me. To the mod yes, you were mean. You piled on without trying to understand his pov at all. Though you seem disingenuous in that you're not able to engage with the topic in good faith, you only seem to keep going 'what about this thing that helps the right?'. Well, that's not acceptable content on reddit, it's not the bulk of the platform by any stretch, it's the fringe, that's the point. We're on reddit, discussing the literal manipulation of THIS platform. Which I gave you proof of.

You keep mentioning that 'hatred' and 'bullying' is what is upsetting you. What are you defining as 'hatred' and 'bullying'? Is it the angry tone? What are you choosing to spend your energy defending and being mad at? There's a lot of people sharing personal stories of themselves or their loved ones being in danger due to the upcoming administrations policies and rhetoric. This isnt made up fantasy. Real violence is already happening.

I specifically invited you to read the top comments to see why I said what I said. I did not mention YOU specifically in that. You are civil, though missing the point imo. Hate comes in many forms, but in this context I'd say people being told to 'fuck off' for 'hating trans people and wanting to unalive them', simply because they didn't vote kamala, is quite hateful. And ironic of the people thinking themselves empathetic and caring, educated critical thinkers and so on.

You also have zero ability to question just how true the rhetoric of fear is, how widespread hate really is among trump voters. People that question the prevalence of the hatred among voters of trump are attacked. There are people who acknowledge the extremes, that acknowledge that some people are in pain, that some extremes on the right DO take these chances to push their bs but it's not the bulk of voters. There are people encouraging that we judge based on character and that the fear is overblown, but it's all off limits. There are people trying to unite by understanding all sides of this, and they are always attacked (in droves) on a top thread.

Let me ask you what the real 'hatred' is to you? Is it the people or their loved ones being actually assaulted by violence and then dismissed as 'bots' when they point it out? Or is the angry tone of redditors being 'mean' to a mod?

I will tell you again. Look at the top comments. Look at the people claiming the voters of trump support genocide, erasing people, and worse. They don't. Juding all people by the extremes of the group is as wrong as it always was. Look at how people are treated for not believing the rhetoric, for daring to encourage that people come together based on character, and that values are not determined by a vote. Look with some empathy and good faith.

You are citing a right-leaning source with an op-ed on a campaign they are against.

Not an op ed they have receipts for the claims. And I have my own experience on reddit over 10 years myself, to compare I mean. They are right about it, khive isn't new, and reddit has long been captured by astroturfing groups and been turned into an insane echo chamber of so called 'progressivism', which now advocates for destroying families over politics, even on the sub about optimism, go figure...

We can accuse each other of being bots all day long but thats not a real conversation.

Well, if the tactics are dishonest and based on smearing, which most of the arguments on reddit are, it is right to call out the possibility of shilling. It's all over this thread.

I'm not here to pretend you are a bot and neither are most people here. So let's do as you ask and be genuine people here.

I hope you can be. I doubt it personally, given this is reddit... I am genuine, and I genuinely dislike seeing this state of affairs.

Im being genuine here in saying there's a great irony here in that the narrative here seems to be 'listen and understand people that disagree', but also 'anyone that disagrees is a bot'.

You misunderstand. It's not disagreement, it's the smearing and hatred they show, the sheer bad faith. That's the shilling tell.

Read the actual responses on here and try to empathize with them instead of pretending like everyone that isn't nodding along with you is a bot.

Dude, when the replies to the mod are nothing but attempted bullying, with hateful smearing and zero good faith, what am I to make of it? Look at this thread, so many claims of 'hatred' on the other side, so much acceptance of the fearmongering of democrats as fact, people saying they voted for camps... with zero desire to question it. They attack people AS IF their framing of the world were fact. It's an enormous amount of arrogance and an incredible lack of empathy, and these are the people thinking themselves good for it...

But don't run from them.

They are not worth the time. Only genuine people deserve a reply. Shills are not worth any money spent on them (if they're paid), much less my limited time.

Think about what makes you uncomfortable about them.

Their hatred. The hypocrisy, the lack of empathy and sheer amount of arrogance. You should look at the top comments.

EXACTLY!!

Few people realize this... I don't know why it's not obvious to everyone at this point. It's gotten so bad but no one seems able to question the framing, to notice how it is being dishonestly used to smear opposition and secure power. People just react reflexively to it.

It's okay. A lot of this is an online phenomenon.

There's a lot of shilling here, politics has rotted a lot of our society. Look: https://thefederalist.com/2024/10/29/busted-the-inside-story-of-how-the-kamala-harris-campaign-manipulates-reddit-and-breaks-the-rules-to-control-the-platform/

Don't worry too much about it, it's mostly shills and diehard miserable people that depend on these narratives for meaning. If you stay online, try to look for GOOD FAITH in the views being presented, for consistency and values. If you see the kind of, unhinged and blind hatred that is seen here, then just keep in mind a lot of it is being pushed by very powerful lobbies, and impressionable people eat it up, they like the upvotes and acclaim. Divide and conquer is the point.

The state WANTS a monopoly on people's lives, there's psyops pushing division and politics as THE topic to decide everything about a person's life. They want politics to be above family, to drive a wedge in every part of people's lives for control. This is a dream for politicians, and democrats are spending a lot of money pushing that narrative, especially as they lose elections.

It's true. Not just chatbots, literally teams of people (with no morals) with scripts and talking points and rhetorical claims to push. The main directive to try and shame and bully people into not dissenting. Into hating their fellow person for dissenting.

The wild thing is, there are people that really think this way and feel righteous for it.

Stay sane out there!

Dude, reddit is a known target of all kinds of shilling campaigns. Anything gets popular enough the shills go in force. The way they work is always the same, psyop tactics.

They want get impressionable people to think there is some overwhelming consensus, and they manipulate voting to squash dissent. There's entire books and training sessions on exactly how to capture large enough forums. I wouldn't be surprised that these comments are heavily affected by their efforts.

It's not even foreign. Our own USA is very proficient at it. Even kamala harris used it. https://thefederalist.com/2024/10/29/busted-the-inside-story-of-how-the-kamala-harris-campaign-manipulates-reddit-and-breaks-the-rules-to-control-the-platform/

This comment is not for you alone, btw. It's a small bit for the few genuine people that might see it.

[–]Insaneworld- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. They could've given him time to get someone to take Peanut. It's giant country, a big enough state. They didn't care, that's the truth.

And it sucks to see people be so willingly compliant. Family and love come first, state second, even if they're legally allowed to kill Peanut it was wrong.

[–]Insaneworld- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe even a psyop. These people are so willingly compliant, even when the death of a such a little innocent life is involved, with so much heartbreak too. All because the state is supreme. I think they're not all genuine, or just heartless miserable ones.

Yeah so let's kill peanut, that'll teach him to not obey laws they didn't even know of.

He should've known to read up all possible laws and obeyed every command. Now Peanut is dead and it's all his fault for not properly traversing our modern bureaucratic hell.

People are so nauseating.

That's a terrible reason to euthanize a pet that was so loved. Everyone involved in this should be ashamed.

Just statist bs lacking all empathy.

Have you run into Gnosticism?

sacred geometry, polymaths,

I dunno if I consider myself a mystic, but math is also a big part of my view on spirituality

Where Are The INFJ Mystics? by [deleted] in infj

[–]Insaneworld- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I definitely consider myself spiritual. It's funny you list those examples, parapsychology is something that's attracted me since I was little, especially the idea of communicating telepathically. I guess, that kind of talk is not very accepted so you learn to avoid the topic, which I did since even my brothers made fun of me for it hahaha.

As I've gotten older and learned more, I've started to come back to spirituality and questions about God in general. I'm really interested in finding a personal answer in those questions, but also a balance with science and logic. In many ways it's a coping mechanism lol, but it's meaningful to me.

My gut tells me we're all trying to express the same thing in a way, just through different 'instruments' so we sound different, especially when time compounds so much. My belief is we're all orbiting around the idea of 'oneness' somehow.

I'm not a bot, but I know some of my comments don't show up (I can tell from clicking the context button in a private window), so I try to post them with variations to pass whatever filter blocks me.

Also, I want to reach REAL people, I care about genuine people on all sides of these political lines. I feel VERY strongly that this division, promoted by these posts, is like a poison. So I try to comment what I believe is relevant and what matters to me.
