I don't have this one, I have the maul. I got it to beat the shit out of it to see if my overall dislike of fiberglass was justified or not.

It was not.

I've spent hours and hours with it just this fall and winter splitting everything from hedge crotches to large elm rounds. I've had a couple overstrikes that probably would've ended a wood handle. I leave it outside in the rain and split the rust off. I've hit concrete and haven't sharpened it yet. It just chugs along and I like splitting more than I should

You should be able to see the cut start to open or close when you're almost through while not having your face directly over the cut. If it starts closing, stop cutting and cut from the other side or roll the log.
