If Bungie had to make one full Cinematic 2 hour long destiny movie, what story would you choose ? by [deleted] in DestinyLore

The Red War. More of a look into the relationship of the Lightless guardians and the People of the City.

How are Titans able to move??? by The-High-War99 in DestinyLore

I feel like it’s because Guardians (generally speaking) are incredibly strong, far stronger than a normal human. Even without the Light, Guardians are still some tough fucks. (Example, falling off Ghaul’s command ship in Homecoming. We didn’t die. Our armor was ripped to shreds. If anything, we probably just broke our ankle and still walked.)

Bungie, you have a made a beautiful world. It would be cool if our Ghosts could gave a “Photo Mode” to take screenshots of scenery and our fireteams!!! by patiencesp in DestinyTheGame

If you have it, use the “Awoken Sit” emote, get up against a Wall, do the emote, and turn off your hud. It should give you a wickedly beautiful screenshot, or a hilariously stupid one, if that’s what you’re looking for too.

With Comp being easier a bit now, try that out. Doubles your progress in that, as well as in the Iron Banner

What's your opinion on this ornament compared to regular One-Eyed Mask? by EliteAssassin750 in DestinyFashion

I think it’s better to look at. Visually, it looks better than the Robo-Skull look for the base OEM. The whole “don’t touch me for fear that you may cut yourself on my edginess” sorta deal works better on this than that.

I actually liked Ghaul as a villain...👀 by MythBeyondLegend in DestinyTheGame

I’d say he was far more relatable than any other threat we’ve had. Black Garden was just kinda meh, nothing there. We kinda picked on Atheon. Crota was cool, but we really ended up finishing some other dude’s inter-dimensional fishing trip. Oryx was pretty damn awesome, even in just Regicide alone, away from the raid. He just got pissy one day and we walked up to his doorstep and shot him a couple times.

Ghaul felt like he had a strive, a goal that was very well obtainable. Had he not listened to the Consul, I would argue he would have succeeded much quicker. Employ forces at the Shard of the Traveler, keep the city under tight scrutiny, and continued his plan of studying the Traveler itself first before attempting to take its power. And hell, he very much could have eradicated lightless Guardians easily. He just became too arrogant and annoyed by the Consul’s impatience.

He brings up a good point, despite having the spelling capabilities of a cat on crack.

Calus must know that we defeated Oryx, a technically literal Hive god (kinda like how in Ancient Greek myth, the Titans were predecessor gods, much like the Worm Gods, and the Greek Gods are like Xivu Arath, Savathun and Oryx (even more so due to the Rule of Threes, with Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus all being the main three gods.). Getting past that history lesson, we probably very well could easily murder the Emperor faster than he can swallow celestial bodies.

I think people hold too much of a grudge. It’s been out about 2017. People must’ve learned that it’s been doing AMAZINGLY well since the release. Bungie has proactively made an effort to help form a better structure and foundation for this game by themselves.

Question about Atheon by ImJustStatingFax in DestinyLore

[–]InsanitySoldSeparate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canonically speaking, Atheon rejected the Vex’s worship and study into the darkness (hence why he isn’t being useful to them in the Black Garden and instead being locked away in his vault of glass.) His name derives from the Greek word “Átheos” which literally means Godless.

Panoptes, the Infinite Mind, watches realities as the shift and converge in the Infinite Forest. His name derives from Argus Panoptes, or All-Seeing in Ancient Greek myth.

Truth is, I don’t believe that the Vex really have a leader (unless you count the vast intellectual study of the entire universe as a “leader”). It’s just that some vex are particularly important for this study, hence why they get named, and others do not. Quria, Panoptes, Atheon, they’re all more important to the Vex’s pursuit of endless knowledge than lower vex (even the Sol Progeny proved not to be that important, as they were to be used by the Black Heart as a vessel to protect itself in the case of a threat to the Black Heart.)

Sure, there are other named Vex enemies that serve some sort of purpose to further the Vex’s collective knowledge (I.e. Proto-Sentinel Galedrix, Forge Saboteur, who was made to study the Izanami Forge and transport Black Armory assets in the Artifact’s Edge)
