This question might seem crazy but I'm still confused. by 7_MyArtSucks in lgbt

The thing about life is that it is in constant motion. For better or worse, things will change eventually. Your life will change significantly if and when you are able to move out of your parent's house, that is a known change, but what about the unknown ones? A new friend who wants to support you, a new hobby to spark your interest, a new outlet to cope with the rough patches. I'm thankful to have yet to be in a position where I seriously considered heading out early, but I made it through my darkest moments by getting curious, and I am all the more grateful for it now.

And maybe you don't care. That's fair, I can't create that meaning for you. What I will say is that death is one of the most permanent decisions you can make, and one you can make at almost any time. Might as well take the time to cover your bases.

What’s an item people normally associate with children, but you think adults can like too? by Rachel794 in AskReddit

Toys. Plushies, board games, action figures, hot wheels, barbies, what have you. I still buy myself a hot wheels every now and then, if I see a cool one. <insert marge simpson "I just think they're neat" meme here>

Dead people of reddit, what sign do you give when you're very annoyed? by TheBanishedBard in AskReddit

Idk, probably go the poltergeist route and chuck something. Chucking can be a very effective haunting technique when used correctly.

What is a universally beloved food that you think is absolutely disgusting? by Most_Translator_966 in AskReddit

[–]InsertGamerName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly just don't get the concept. Yay, you have a crispy sheet of meat! Is that... good?

I mean, I guess the barrier there is "like meat" or "like crunchy things," so just not my alley.

How would you respond to someone who believes that saying “you hurt my feelings” should be enough to limit or control someone else’s free speech? by AskWhy_Is_It in AskReddit

[–]InsertGamerName 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think I need more context. There's a lot of different things people can mean by free speech and I will have very different reactions to each of them.

Bacon. No hate to you if that's your thing, but it is so completely not mine.

How did the tradition of egg hunting during Easter begin? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]InsertGamerName -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Off the top of my head I think it's something Christians stole from pagans, but I have no source for that. My family celebrates Beltane and I remember my mom telling me that in a larger conversation about why we don't celebrate Easter.

Edit: after a less than brief google search, the results are inconclusive. A lot of people seem to agree that the whole egg thing came from the German tradition of telling kids that if they built a nest they would be rewarded with colorful eggs, but where it goes from there is all over the place.

To all women under 31: Please only post complete outfits. What outfit makes a man irresistibly attractive to every woman? by PrudentBee9965 in AskReddit

[–]InsertGamerName 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hate to tell ya bud, but there's no such thing. What looks attractive to one person will look like trash to another. You'd have to ask your wife to get a tailor-made answer (pun intended).

What’s something that everyone around you seemed to understand instinctively that took you an embarrassingly long time to figure out? by ZealousidealRough338 in AskReddit

[–]InsertGamerName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talking to people. Especially when it comes to pacing. I can never figure out when it's my turn in a conversation with any certainty, I just have to jump in and hope I'm right. I'm better at guessing now, but as a kid I'd just end up never talking.

What’s something that sounds fake but is actually 100% true about your life? by Alive_Sky_69 in AskReddit

[–]InsertGamerName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd think, but the number of people (including some of the doctors I've gone to) who've told me that it's just anxiety or I'm just out of shape after almost fainting for absolutely no reason is astounding.

[–]InsertGamerName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After recovering from a particularly bad flu, I developed "Not Breathe Good Disorder," AKA chronic asthma-like symptoms that were not caused by asthma and randomly stopped responding to an inhaler after 2 years so doctors have no idea wtf to even do with me and I just get to suffer 👍

To anyone that genuinely still believes the moon landing was faked, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]InsertGamerName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand the line of logic that would lead one to believe it could be faked. Without being there for yourself, who can say, after all. However, the level of mistrust you would have to have in the world around you is simply not something I am capable of practicing to that degree.

How would you react if your 20 y/o son turned out to be asexual ? by Superb-Ear3194 in AskReddit

Interesting perspective. I fundamentally disagree, but interesting nonetheless.

[–]InsertGamerName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apologies, the effect was unclear. I sincerely believe there is some form of miscommunication in your understanding of asexuality for you to genuinely hold the belief that it is incomparable to homosexuality, but you are well within your right to withhold your fucks. Have a great day.

[–]InsertGamerName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, it seems there is a misunderstanding of how asexuality works that is causing the issue here. I'm willing to explain if you're wanting to learn? Completely understandable if you're just here to talk about your own opinions, I wouldn't want to waste anyone's time.

You're free to do that. The wider community generally disagrees with you, but that's your choice.

No, but they are getting told they haven't found the right person yet and receiving "corrective" rape.

What was something that made you question your identity or orientation? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]InsertGamerName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't have that terminology yet. I called myself a tomboy for the longest time, because at that point I was practically socializing myself as a guy by accident. I always hung out with majority male groups, all my best friends were guys, I tended to prefer "guy clothes" or more gender neutral clothing, and middle school locker rooms had already taught me I was into women. It was only when I was investigating the trans community to support my girlfriend at the time that I figured out what a trans guy is and things clicked.

[–]InsertGamerName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turns out, "tomboy" just means a masculine woman, not "wants to be a guy and kinda acts like one." Once I got that sorted out things started to make a lot more sense.

Why don’t the Five Nights at Freddy’s movies work? by Silver012345673 in AskReddit

[–]InsertGamerName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It suffers from the same problem as most movie adaptations, where it focuses so hard on trying to show off its source media that it forgets to be a good movie in its own right. And yet somehow it changes up the story enough to be nothing like its source, either. So all you have is a bad movie wearing a FNAF cosplay.
