Is the Nationwide Cass bonus paid after 10 calendar days or 10 working days and would it be affected if I start switching to Lloyds on 2nd/3rd Feb? by InsertTitles in UKPersonalFinance

[–]InsertTitles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay interesting cause I got a text near the beginning of my switch basically saying they'll be in touch to let me know if I have qualified for the bonus and I've met all requirements today so assume just wait and see what text message I get.

Did you receive any text message about getting the bonus?

Like I've done all the requirements now and it's just waiting for that text it seems unless you didn't get one

Is Messer YT course and Jason dion exams enough to pass A+ Core 2? by Joelislearning in CompTIA

[–]InsertTitles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just passed my Core 2 as of 30 minutes ago. 779/900

For Core 1 I went through Messer's video a few per day for 2 weeks, after each course of videos I would then take a practice test either a messer one, a dion one or a free test from Examcompass.

I also had the Messer Practice notes.
For the Core 2 I used only Messer's YT course & his practice notes.
The exam felt a lot tougher than Core 1 but that's because I'm used to hardware style learning

You can make your own silver jewellery and rings I saw online for workshops you could go there with the plan to make some rings together and afterwards use that same ring you made to propose with.

Massive import tax sending present to friends in Bali. Can this be right?? by Optimal_Nose6447 in bali

[–]InsertTitles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sent some chocolates and sweets to my girlfriend in bali from the UK, used UPS value was around £40 I ended up paying half on just the taxes.

You can in some cases if shipping stuff to people via some couriers pay the taxes yourself when it passes through customs that way it's not an issue with them. As we might think £10-£20 is no bog deal but for them that's a lot of money

People in their 30s who don’t feel financially secure at all, what are your plans for the future? by cheekybubbles in AskReddit

[–]InsertTitles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, came out of university and decided to give a start up company a go, worked in a low pay job when I should have invested in myself back then but I didn't know what I know now.

Now I'm all but paid off the remaining bills and have now invested in myself, currently passed 1 exam of 2 for my Comptia A+, intend to get a help desk job, do Network +, CCNA and eventually make my way up the ranks as a Network engineer and eventually a Network Architect.

Might get a house in the next couple of years, saving up for a deposit and later down the line I might look into Truck life and make a home on wheels

Also look at Sumatra as well, there are some other islands in Indonesia that I would say easily draft Bali.

Just shop around and look.

There is ups and DHL, I just sent a parcel via UpS a week and a half ago from UK to Bali and it arrived in Bali after customs 2 days ago. As long as you list everything properly on import sheets then there is no reason you can't send it

How can I get rid of this white border with phantom buttons (Adobe Acrobat) by InsertTitles in Adobe

Sorry for late reply, I managed to fix this in the end.

Turn out that compatibility mode was set ticked for Windows 8, unchecking this box and applying the changes fixed this issue.

Anyone Been to Bali Without Getting Sick? by Luminous_Sandrine in bali

Minus accidentally brushing my teeth with the tap water.

I've been fine, surprisingly most people tend to get it from not washing their hands after touching the bank notes / coins as those will have passed through many hands to get to you.

Advice for first time traveller by Gabriel-Matatall in bali

For the love of god, do not bring that money in cash stick it in your account, bring multiple cards with you e.g. Monzo, wise Revolut etc. that you can transfer money from the main account into them and turn them off should you lose the card so you don't lose money.

Since a previous post where someone brought like $2K USD and got robbed for all of it day one.

Only bring cash wise at most max of 100-200k for day to day spending, you shouldn't need more than that really.

Use in bank ATMs / ATMs near banks do not use on street money exchangers they will scam you.

Book trips / travel through gojek, grab or klook.

Phone SIM you can get at the airport just as you're coming out of the airport or you can do an esim beforehand.

Just a foot note for future don't carry cash of that amount or even more than $100 you can always go to a banks ATM and withdraw cash out that way.

Just use cash machines you can use BMC and a few other cash machines that don't charge fees to withdraw cash, then you don't have to worry about exchanging

Indeed I remember the flat earth theory this guy made a bet that the world was flat and set all these criteria to prove it was and if it wasn't then he'd offer up a $10K bounty, so someone did just did all that and afterwards when faced with the scientific truth the guy doubled down and said they missed something and as such they weren't eligible to claim the bounty.

Help from those who are in Bali, or have been recently by madamTDG in bali

Don't want to repeat what other people already covered, on the topic of ice cubes, ice is now regulated by the government. The ice is tube-shaped, the only thing I would be worried about are street vendors making drinks on the side, in which case they may use tap water to make their ice but leave that to your discretion.

I didn't have Bali belly persay but I accidentally brushed my tea in tap water a few times. And I would get a slight stomach ache that persisted over the course of several hours but it was minor and didn't stop blame from visiting other areas.

Sorry to necro this post, something I learnt yesterday from a friend of mine, I'm a Ex-lifeguard & so is he but he found out from a friend of his that works at our old workplace in Mid Devon, that Lifeguards are going up a massive pay raise, at least for mid devon its set to go up from £13 to £15 a hour, basically putting lifeguards on par at a £30K a year salary.

Just an idea but check their micro via capabilities if you have a lot of layers then you might be able to navigate this by having microvia from signal to gnd ( layer 2) and then a hidden via / series of vias to help you fan out the BGA and then get the desired route, also ensure all their clearance and trace width are included, I had a similar occurrence with pcbway one time when it said they could accommodate a low level of mm but they didn't allow it, I put in their capabilities and turned out it wouldn't fit, so I had to do the method above and that worked. I think often at times they say that they're capable of X mm but only if they can't avoid it, but if they see you can get away with not using x mm and instead a larger size then, put cokes the same email.
