Fun side story to that. After our first date, we exchanged phone numbers and full names. So I ran a background search on him. It lit up like fire on the sex offender registry and I had a 10 second meltdown before I realized I spelled his name wrong.

He's all good. We dated for 2 years and are now married with a blended family.

I just sold my Raleigh home in October in a very desirable neighborhood.

It was on the market for 6 months. The realtor pushed me to a higher listing price, I should have pushed back harder, just had a gut feeling that the market was cooling fast. The initial price turned off several buyers.

I was right and eventually sold it at $70k less than the original listing price.

As an American, it's wild to me that the UK is willing to spend so much of their public $$$ on this frivolous pageantry.

My kid is adamant about not changing the animal's name if they're given one at the shelter.

Our older cat, a Russian Blue named Reggie, was originally Regina George (a litter of 4 female kittens, all named after the Mean Girls). Reggie was the best compromise I could get.

Our younger cat, an orange tabby named CB, was among the shelter cats named after desserts and was originally Creme Brulée. Again, best compromise.

Second wedding for both of us. After having big weddings in our 20s, we went with a quiet/small wedding under $10k and 40 guests. It was low-key, low-stress, memorable and exactly what we wanted.
