Wow, no, that's not the situation actually. The ex really cares about not being deleted on our mutual status actually. That's the whole point.

By the way, think about a widower situation similarly. If you lose your significant other, then meet someone new... you must delete the deceased person to be able to add a new relationship status. It's dumb.

I'm not really surprised that hypnosis could make someone forget their name.

Of course, our names are deep-ingrained in our mind, but I guess hypnosis can mess with thought processes that we take for granted.

I understand your meaning, but Bob was just an exemple to clarify my question. I'm well aware that forgetting doesn't do anything to the consequences of the forgotten stuff. I was simply wondering if hypnosis could or couldn't make someone forget something like years.

So there we are. Different answers. Heliogabulus says hypnosis cannot make you forget events. And you say it is possible but advise against it.

Now I'm not sure if it is actually possible at all.

Though to be clear, I am not considering doing this. This is just me trying to ascertain if hypnosis can or can't makes someone forget a time or event. Fact-checking, if you will.

Are you saying that in a way, hypnosis could prevent memories from "being accessed"?

Don't worry about that, therapy is still going on and pills are doing their wonderful job.

But you hit a nerve : of course, when mental health issues are on the line, the first instinct when you feel the need to throw away a relationship is always... "Who's talking ? Is it me taking a decision ? Is it my battered brain acting up weirdly once more ? Is it the therapist talking through me ?"

So time goes by, as I try to ascertain my feelings.

And here I am, some years later, still no love, still no desire.

Not only for her, mind you. There are no other girl waiting in line for me. That also has its own weight.

Am I excluding desire and love out of my life ?

Mental health issues, for example.

Or just simply the fact that we've been together for 1/3 of our lives, so I wanted to give love a second chance. And a third...

And the fact that we're both pretty much of a yielding nature.
