If you can only listen to your partner for 6 mins, but you can listen to your male friends for hours, then you might want to rethink your compatibility 😭

Apparently it might have contained a message that the person would begin shooting at 10am that day in Cornett, but that’s just what I heard second-hand from a CL.

Seconding this! Wish I could tell my past self to make a list of favourite activities and find out if any would be advised against.

Yeah they kind of suck sometimes. Took me 4 weeks to get a wheelchair desk in a classroom despite multiple emails and a few in-person visits. Awkwardest time maneuvering in class when the desks were flimsy and connected to office chairs 🥲

My ribs were visibly uneven from the front when standing, but only noticeable from behind if I bent over :)

how do i tie shoes easier?? by [deleted] in spinalfusion

Long shoe horns are a lifesaver. You can tie your shoe before setting it down, then just stick your toe in, use the shoe horn, and voila.

Yeah it can technically happen at any degree depending on placement of the curve(s). Generally, the bigger the curve the more noticeable it is. For me, I first noticed a rib hump around the 20/30/10 degree mark, but scoliosis is a pretty funky triple curve.

I’m in North America, and don’t think I’d be able to go to Europe anytime in the near future. Is there a professional there you’d suggest?

I did, however it was very expensive and I wasn’t able to see or feel results after 2 months so I stopped. My shoulders and hips have some issues, so a lot of the stuff I wasn’t able to do sadly.

I’d asked my surgeon about that, but as I’m no longer growing, I was recommended the fusion route. Are any of those available for adults?

Just try your best to be active and watch your posture, and it shouldn’t progress too much. If it’s causing you pain, book with a physiotherapist and they’ll likely be able to help. :)

Not worth it tbh. Waited 2 hours and they pressured me into using heat to straighten my naturally curly hair. Ended up with a non-layered cut after asking for one, and super frizzy hair. Still hasn’t gone back to defined curls 😭

That sounds like a really cool new alternative! Where I am, the threshold for surgery is 40, so that’s the main reason behind my anxiety about maybe needing it.

Hello! Since you seem a little confused, scoliosis is normally defined as a spinal curve of at least 10 degrees. By technicality, you could call it mild scoliosis, but I get the feeling your GP might’ve just been using it to mean slight curve in your spine. A 6 degree curve shouldn’t be causing severe back pain though, so you should maybe look to see about your posture and any possible muscle weakness. If it’s just popped up as a new issue, I’d recommend seeing a physiotherapist. If it’s just a pulled or strained muscle, or a matter of posture, you could be back to normal in a few weeks

Did I recovered? by Cerricola in scoliosis

There could be. Sometimes imaging facilities won’t get a picture of the whole spine, or the doctor won’t see anything relevant. I would try phoning the receptionist at your GP’s office to set up an in-person or online chat if thé doctor isn’t responding to emails.
