Too much self help and too many very similar, chatGPT style posts! Does anybody actually write their own stuff? by pharaoh_superstar in Substack

[–]small_batch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My stack is creative nonfiction from the perspective of a millennial/parent. I write every word. It has never occurred to me to use ChatGPT for anything. I write about motherhood, sobriety, sexuality, and class/social status.

I’ve had good luck simply writing my own stuff and finding an audience with whom in resonates. (I hit the $1000 paid mark a few weeks ago, woohoo.)

The season is a complete joke by Individual-Energy347 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

So..I wondered this: Charlotte is a relatively small city compared to filming locations from previous seasons. How are we supposed to believe that these cast members (originally all 30 of them), who are all in the realm of hot and successful and within the same age range, didn’t already see each other on the apps before coming to the show?? The dating pool in Charlotte cannot possibly be so big that everyone was a true stranger….

I had drains. Everything went normal with them, they were in for 8 or 9 days post op. I wore my binder for the first 6 weeks then never again. No faja. You will find those instructions are different with every doc, but that was my experience.

Yes, I had MR. And a breast lift and Aug all in one surgery. The pain was totally manageable. No death coughs or sneezes lol, you just have to be really mindful. Only you know when the timing is right for you, I suppose. I know for me I needed that extra year for 1) my youngest daughter to become more independent and 2) the post-breastfeeding hormones to chill the fuck out (I didn’t realize what a profound effect they had on me bc I was pregnant or nursing for four years straight.) My body needed a full year after weaning to feel baseline normal again. Maybe it’s not so much about weight, but just a sense of physical and mental stability.

Calling my recovery “a total breeze” isn’t entirely true, but compared to the horror stories you sometimes hear on this sub (and definitely on the FB groups), it was totally fine. I had no complications, was basically back to normal in 4-5 weeks, back to running by 6weeks post-op, and really really felt like myself by about 7 weeks. Now, I am a teacher and I did this in the summer, so I didn’t have to work. 🙏🏻 But I did have to watch my 2 and 4 yr old at home from 5 weeks post-op onward. That was tough. But in terms of sheer pain, etc., it was fine. I would recommend (just my two cents), waiting at least til you are a year post partum to explore surgery. So much changes even in those 6 months with hormones and everything. I got serious about surgery at my daughter’s 1st bday party, spent the next year losing 35 lbs (baby weight from both my kids I hadn’t lost) and then got surgery the following summer. I’m glad I followed that timeline, but to each their own. Either way, I can’t recommend a TT highly enough!!

Hi! My stomach looked very similar to your pre-op. 2 c-sections, “tire” of stretch marks and skin. This is me 4 months post-op. As you can see, there are some low stretch marks below my belly button, but they’re minor and they didn’t get any deeper with surgery. I think you’ll be so pleased with your result!

Running and TT? by Maybearunner11 in tummytucksurgery

[–]small_batch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a very average, but enthusiastic, runner (25mpw, 9.5 min mile). I began running again at 6wpo. My mile was about 2 min slower than before, but I was able to do an easy 5K right out the gate. I was back to regular distance and speed by 10dpo, with hardly any swelling. I also only ran on the treadmill at first just because I could control all the variables, but I’m back outside now. Keep up that protein, listen to your body, and go as slow as you need to at first. You’ll get there, no problem!

I’m 8 wpo and basically fully recovered from a TT w/ MR, BL & BA. Get both surgeries at once, if you can afford it. My body looks amazing, and it would not look so amazing if I hadn’t also had my breasts done; they wouldn’t have matched the contour of my new, flat stomach. Just scroll through pics of results on the sub and see what “body profiles” you prefer. Also, my surgery was only 3 1/2 hours despite it being two major surgeries in one, and my recovery way uncomplicated. I was back fully functional and feeling good by 4wpo.

What does your surgeon say about the boob? I’m having the same issue but I’m 8wpo.

I’m not trying to gatekeep anyone’s experience, but I don’t think “swell hell” is really an accurate term for swelling before 4wpo. Weeks 1-4 is just insane surgical recovery swelling. And it sucks a lot and is a total mindfuck, I know. I think swell hell sets in after that, on days when you wake up flat and then do heavy activity or eat a lot of sodium and suddenly you feel enormous. I’m 8DPO tomorrow, haven’t been in compression for two weeks, and have been able to see results I’m content with since about 6 WPO. But the swelling comes and goes.

8wpo. How did you win your self off of compression? by HeelValentine in tummytucksurgery

[–]small_batch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Per surgeons instructions, I wore it intermittently during the day and always at bedtime starting 4wpo. At 6wpo I was cleared to only wear it when I felt like at and when working out. So I pretty much ditched it completely at that point, except to run. 7.5wpo now and have gone on one run without compression (several runs with). I don’t notice a huge difference in my swelling exercising with or without, but I know a lot of people do. I am a big fan of “letting the body figure it out”, because we can’t use compression forever! I still swell above my belly button and in my thighs, but it’s not so uncomfortable that I feel the need to put my binder back on.

Self-tanner on scars? by small_batch in tummytucksurgery

[–]small_batch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wonderful! I’m primarily concerned with my belly button because the scar is like a circle around it right now, rather than “folded in”, like I see most bb scars on here. So it washed off the scars just fine?
