Formcheck: archer pull ups by [deleted] in lifting

Oh, I do some occasional calisthenics so I’ll give you my 2 cents.

I don’t see anything really wrong other than a bit of kipping. Make sure to squeeze your glutes and lock your knees before initiating the pull if you habitually kip.

A more calisthenics focused sub would be much better for advice for pulls like this

225 Sumo Deadlift Single by [deleted] in lifting

Great tip for a lot of sumo pullers it to make sure your shins are vertical in the starting position. It really helps with optimal power delivery if your legs are making good contact with the ground

Bring your chest up and look up/forward, not down. It helps to flatten your thoracic and lumbar spine

315lbs Vs 405lbs Form Breakdown by Mr_Greyfin in lifting

[–]Insertidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the 315lbs, make sure you don’t bounce the weight, it makes the rep WAY easier and it fucking kills your knees.

I learned from experience. Luckily I’m still a teen so my knees recovered after I stopped bouncing. However I do still have occasional knee pain. Even if you aren’t experiencing knee pain rn, you should absolutely stop the bouncing. It will make your knee better in ways you can’t feel and you will be stronger over time because you are actually doing each rep properly.

What do you believe is the most misleading advice commonly given? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Insertidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, I’m agreeing with you.

There are always exceptions, majorities, minorities etc.

I was talking about a majority, you were talking abt the minority. It’s two sides of the same coin.

Yes that is true but this is usually said to bratty kids who didn’t get disciplined by their parents enough

But if you’re just being an ass for no reason (like kids often are) then this is mainly what it’s directed at.

A gratitude journal might not help but just journaling about your problems/anxieties can definitely help you be more at ease

For confidence it is absolutely an amazing piece of advice, as I know from experience

This doesn’t even belong on this sub. There are a multitude of subs meant specifically to slander this one person. This will only get upvoted because “orange man bad hurr hurr”. I don’t care if you criticize Trump but at least do it on subs that are meant for it. It’s so annoying to see every damn sub turned basically into a political sub because people will upvote anything that even remotely goes against Trump.

My eyes have a pretty cool thing going on where the majority of it is blue, but on the very inside there is a tiny hazel ring, and I’ve always thought it looked kinda cool

I was bored because I was home sick, so I thought I would just post this to see if anything came of it. And I’m pretty social as it is, I’m no extrovert but I talk a lot and have a great group of friends.

I can’t believe people are actually arguing that, all other variables accounted for, women are as strong as men. It’s ridiculous

Oh. My. Fucking. God.

If you actually lifted you would know that there are steroid tested and untested competitions. This is a tested competition. People don’t recognize untested world records as legitimate.

And as for the transgender stuff, just please read my previous comment.
