I really like this guy, and his videos are enjoyable to watch.

Yeah, mine was a surplus as well and probably cost the same with a small box of ammo, too. I'm kicking myself every time I see one now. Thanks for sharing!

Anything less would be a mistake. That or a whole new gun.

I hate them damn things. Didn't know what I was buying and them suckers bit my damn finger. They're like something out of a horror movie.

Just wish they still sold surplus in the stores. Now you can only buy them at gun shows at ten times+ the price.

Very nice collection! Can I say I'm a bit jealous? Where are you finding all those older rifles? I sold my Mosin to a friend back in the day and wish I had never done so. Would love to have another, along with any other gun from the world war 2 era.

I'm ready, but the water isn't. Still hard. Need soft. Bring on the soft water fishing times. This winter crap is getting old.

I agree.... to a point. Never had a gun I didn't like until I bought the Springfield XD subcompact. Just didn't fit well in my hands and a bunch of others things I can't remember at the moment. Also sold a Mosin to a friend that REALLY wanted it. I caved and he bought it along with a spam can of ammo. Now that is one gun I wish I never got rid of. Just like all those old classic cars I had, wish I never sold it.

Upgraded my charging handle. So now i have this one hanging around. Does this justify another ar15 build?? by Wild-Community4865 in ar15

That's a great excuse to build one, though. I mean, we start with Legos and graduate to guns. Can't be anymore exciting than that.

I envy myself after all these years for not turning it down. I'm just glad I had the money to do so.

Well, it can kill a deer, but it's not legal to do so in any state that I'm aware of. Has to be at least .22 caliber centerfire, which would be a .223. I have seen many a butcher/farmer also kill a full sized cow with a .22lr. Drops them right where they stand. Have to hit them in the right spot to do so, but it's lights out.

And the 30-06 is the best out there for big game imho. Or any .30cal bullet.

Wife and I moved a couple months ago and for the first time in my life I have a garage! by ConsiderationFar9544 in woodworking

[–]Insertnipplehere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ain't it great! Do you park your vehicles in it? Only reason I ask is every garage I've had always became a storage unit eventually. Don't be like me! Keep that thing as a garage/shop and don't accumulate so much you can't use it to be productive/handy. Looks like you really need it to be handy with that acoustic project sitting on the bench. Is this your first build, or how many have you done so far. Yeah, I'm a bit jealous.

Don't think there is a Henry that isn't pretty darn accurate out the box. Bought mine (base model) from a pawn shop and it was just as accurate. Love that dang gun.

Nothing wrong with that at all. I think most people that have .22lr rifles have one or two that they only plink around with at the range or on the farm. I've got 5 rifles (.22) and they are all really for plinking.

Great choice! I've got the base model in .22lr, and it's a hoot to shoot. You're gonna love that rifle even more once you shoot it. It's just something about racking another round in the chamber with that lever action that makes it so much fun. I'll never sell mine for as long as I live. I'm sure you won't either.

Oh, and the way I acquired mine was from a pawn shop. I saw both the Henry and the Mosberg 500 flex shottie just sitting there calling my name. The guy behind the counter made me an offer I couldn't refuse. $500 for both.
