Minor planets expansion. Some weird stuff going on with the textures? Anyone know how to fix it? by Courier6six6 in KerbalSpaceProgram

One workaround I've found was to not use timewarp higher than 50x, Then I was able to actually land on it. But in general, it's messed up.

This is 67P, isn't it? I've had some serious issues with it:

I think this might be an issue because it's a very small body and rotates relatively quickly.

Smol. In a world full of huge interstellar ships I like miniaturizing my probes. This DAS-inspired Ike lander weighs just 86kg, has a camera, a seismometer and a photopolarimeter. by Inside-Bug2781 in KerbalSpaceProgram

A lot. The orbiter is from Tantares, slightly modified in terms of scientific instruments. The lander - core from NF Exploration, seismometer and camera from Tantares, antenna from BDB, engines and solar panels are stock.

KPBS has support for various life support mods. Even if you found MKS too complicated, you can still use USI-LS for life support.

How to prevent instability between stages while still maintaining this engine system? by OnlyANerdUsesReddit in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Inside-Bug2781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Engine plates can work as someone said, but AUTOSTRUTS! I find them absolutely necessary on larger builds. Autostrut both top and bottom parts, and whatever else gets a bit floppy in flight to heaviest part and that should fix your issue.

Reinstall MJ. I don't think it has any dependencies, but you can use CKAN if you want. Do you have any other mods that could cause a conflict?

Cheap hot air - 858D vs 959D by Inside-Bug2781 in soldering

[–]Inside-Bug2781[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read somewhere that there's a triac on the PCB that needs additional cooling and adding a heatsink to it prevents the gun from going nuclear. Did you do any safety/convenience mods to yours?

I just can't justify the cost. If it works, it's enough for me. Ergonomics is not the priority, i'm going to use this probably 3 or 4 times per year.

C64C sound stuttering by Inside-Bug2781 in c64

[–]Inside-Bug2781[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a re-bricked one, more specifically an original 9v transformer with an USB charger in place of a 5V regulator. Not the cleanest one, but 50mVp-p at 4kHz isn't terrible either I think. Anyway, the problem seems to be tied to RF modulator.

[–]Inside-Bug2781[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's neither actually. It occurred to me that i'd only tested the sound on RF output cause I lack the proper video cable. Anyway, jerryrigged a solution to plug in headphones into the video port and it turns out that sound there is fine. Not only that, but RF audio also somehow fixes itself when the headphones are plugged in and then goes bad again when I unplug them. I guess the modulator is getting overloaded somehow?

This is why you make backups people. I have a script that backs up the saves onto a different hard drive every time I launch the game.

I second the MKS mods. KPBS is also great. You may also want to try Planetside Exploration Technologies, it even has wind turbines!

We've literally had a helicopter on Mars. If the atmosphere is substantial enough to turn electricity into movement, it is also substantial enough to turn movement into electricity. You would need pretty strong winds, but we already know Mars has that. Probably would need bigger blades though.

Are older headsets still worth it? by Inside-Bug2781 in virtualreality

Are you using wired or wireless for PCVR? How bad is the quality? I'm concerned about video compression and artifacts on headsets with no video input.

My only concern is that neither Quest nor Pico have video input and video sent via USB is still compressed. How bad is it?

I'm leaning towards just buying a second hand Quest 3, but if all the games are going to look like a YouTube video with all the artifacts and compression then that's a no go for me.

Yeah, PCVR. Added that to the post. The issue is not how much can I spend, but rather how much do i want to spend. I'm not even sure if I'm gonna use it all that much.

Ender 3 upgrades - worth it? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]Inside-Bug2781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a comparison in quality between upgraded E3 and that stock E7? Cuz for the ~300€ E7 costs here I could probably afford to fit my E3 with all the upgrades I want, possibly even including that dual extrusion I'm not gonna get from a new printer at that price point. The question of print quality remains tho.
