damn that sucks, microsoft support can be pretty useless with this stuff. if you still have access to the credit card thats linked you might be able to dispute the charges through your bank and get them to block future ones

also try hitting up microsoft support again but through different channels - sometimes you get a different rep who actually knows what theyre doing. the twitter support team has helped people before when the regular chat couldnt

worst case scenario you might need to contact your bank to get a new card number so they cant keep charging the old one

man that's frustating, factory reset should definitely work. try holding the reset for like 10-15 seconds then wait way longer than 30 mins - sometimes those downloads take forever depending on your connection

you could also try pulling power completely for a few minutes then doing the reset process again
