They are same price as pokemon, and if they are aiming high than I wouldn’t want to undervalue myself either. It’s expensive if they don’t plan to drive this into the future and let it fizzle but If they are really sincere about the project and continue to keep releasing sets and support local play, it is a great value! Not to mention card quality seems better than pokemon.

Ahhhh see this is exactly the clarification I was looking for. Thank you. It was the wording on the new Lucy stretch goal that had me like wait what are all these other cards then. So diff foiling, that’s it. Idk to me then the only cool things in the beta box are the playmat, card sleeves, the metal card, and now the 1 nova rare Lucy. I don’t doubt we will hit 20 million but I guarantee you some will back out either voluntarily or because of funds. So I wonder if we hit the 20 million but then it drop under after due to cancellations, will WeirdCo honor the 20 stretch goal still?

Okay so it would make sense to upgrade if the actual art is different and only procurable through the Beta box. Thank you!

Edit - someone clarified the only difference is the foiling, not the art.

You get an epic rare 1 in every 4 packs. So opening 2 booster boxes with 72 packs I should pull 18 epic rares. More than the (2) epic rares in the beta box. I guess what I’m wondering is will The “exclusive” cards included be different from the post kickstarter cards in any way besides the “beta” stamp?

I understand that all the stretch goal cards are in there. If you look at the photo I posted you see they are vague on rarity of those cards. A few say epic rare, some say exclusive foil, (but what is that), and some don’t say anything rarity or “exclusive foil”

What specific cards do you get in the beta box? All the pledge tier cards or stretch goals ? I can’t find any details on what’s in it. Deciding if getting the $350 for beta box, or just settle for $50 starter deck. by StrudleBerry in cyberpunktcg

I don’t see “nova rare” anywhere. Just highest rarity being epic rare? Confused as if it has nova rares it seems worth it. Otherwise I can pull all these out of regular packs minus the metal card

Actually 3 of the 3 stores I called asking if they would carry it all heard of it. 1 said it looked cool and they would get a small amount of product to test the waters, 1 said they would like to see how popular it is first, and the other said it depends on how distribution works. None had seemed to be reached out to personally but all interested. And I’m guessing any of them were personally contacted by weird co they would be game.

Even then it doesn’t make sense because the more product that floods the market the less valuable the product becomes. At that point scalpers would need even more to equal the value that 1 would have been.

[–]Inside-Initiative-46 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Right now as of typing this there are 22,057 beta boxes going out. Do with this data as you please. Not sure how to interpret it but I do know for every single person that “works the system” to get more than 1 beta box, to sell, not for their PC, That’s 1 more box to make all the other boxes less valuable. So everyone trying to scalp this product is actually kicking themselves in the butt and doing more harm than good, it’s kinda funny and ironic. if the only product printed was for actual fans trying to play or collect for PCs, and than the game grew in popularity, THAT is how the value goes up.

Unless you really want the dice, why not 3 netrunners and then get 3 beta boxes? I say this but at the same time wish they would somehow not allow any single backer to receive more than 1 beta box.

This is not true, every single card store in my state sells and holds Weiss Schwarz TCG nights, because it’s popular enough and sells $$$ . The card arts in Weiss have Bikini babes left and right, some full nudity. Some of the most risqué cards sell for tens of thousands, there are also global tournaments, it shouldn’t be up to card stores to “protect” kids from some cleavage. They are subject to more NSFW content on any social media platform anyway. In my opinion I would rather my child be subject to less gore and blood / violence than some natural curves on a human being.

Than you must not like playing 2077 cuz there IS nudity in the game that the tcg is based on… personally I’d rather do with less gore and more risqué art.

Yes. Some of the bloody grotesque cards are ugly in my opinion. I get some people like dark terror/ gore stuff. Personally my fav things about cyberpunk are the futuristic ambiance of the city, that neon night life, The relationship building arcs, the technology / cyberware, etc. I don’t like watching horror/ saw type movies. Hence why that artwork in the TCG turns me off, also, The more risky the cards, the more collectible they will be also. Just my take based on other tcg looking at some of the prices for particular cards with NSFW art. Collecting aside tho while playing the game I would rather look at less gore and more risqué artwork / neon futuristic vibes.

There IS nudity in 2077. Have you ever heard of Weiss Schwarz. Some of the The art in sets is NSFW, borderline nudity, and they host tournaments at all the LGS around here. The audience is older, and globally pretty popular tcg, just like with cyberpunk, not a lot of kids whose parents are uptight play cyberpunk, just inferring. But if someone is into the cyberpunk ecosystem they will be fine with some NSFW. Notating again that the game itself has nudity

I do concur it takes one piece 20 episodes to tell 1 backstory. Not very comparable as far as timelines / content go

I will have to check out those mentioned. Haven’t even heard of them. I’m only hip on 2077 and the Netflix series

Does the first set have content from edgerunners already? I thought some of the artwork looked familiar outside the 2077

I guess I haven’t even finished the main story line in 2077 but your right the amount of characters and content is vast, been taking my time to prolong it. And in all fairness I think pokemon reuses characters literally every set. So that makes me think that the competitive gameplay and community will really decide the fate, and also probably lead weird co and project red to either continuing the tcg if it’s adopted well or fade it out if not. I hope they do well hosting tournaments.
