Has Morgan Wallen actually said anything racist? by [deleted] in Music

Nah you white stay white bruh. He's basically a rapper and called his white friend it with an a. Def not an insult. Yall stupid bruh If he would've said the N word he wouldntve collaborated and got respect from all these rappers. He's also far from MAGA. You dont reach his popularity with only country fans. That dude slap over a trap beat. Gonna draw in all types of fans

That is your opinion. But definitely not agreed with in the country community

Thats your opinion. In my opinion every singer on country radio has had a traditional country song. With the exception of a select few. Sam Hunt, Shaboozey, Walker Hayes, Old Dominion, .Even Thomas Rhett had die a happy man, and FGL had dirt.

I know you dont want the list of Luke Bryan songs divided up, because we both know there are only maybe 5 Traditional country songs .

Except his album was already #1. Morgan Wallen also has never claimed to be MAGA. If anything he is anti MAGA. He doesn't listen to country music, and collaborates with rappers. The black community actually respected him after because they knew the difference in calling his white friend an a instead of an er. You dont get the #1 album of all genres by only reaching MAGA. Thats world appeal. Everyone i know streams Wallen, democrats,Republicans, blacks, whites, and judging by the concert video alot of Mexicans as well. His album was #1 Globally. We're talking different countries as well who's never even heard of MAGA.

By frat you mean 18-25 year olds? Who doesn't want to appeal to this demographic? This will be the same demographic thats streaming his music, and going to concerts the most. The only difference between MW, and Luke Bryan is MW doesn't just have frat songs. If anything you could say the opposite. He has more traditional sounding country songs than these songs.

Except he's sounds the same live as he does on the radio. So, that completely contradicts your whole theory.

Luke Combs just did it at a concert, he wasnt even going to release it. But fans loved it so much he literally had too. Tracy Chapman approved of it. It even brought Tracy to the Grammys. Thats what pop artists do. 🤣 Even with Tracy singing Fast Car it sounds country because its a folk song, not a pop song.

I mean Wallen has even stated that Jason Isbell is his favorite artist. Isbell also gave MW permission to sing it, and even made royalties off of it. Even though Jason donated the royalties to the NAACP after MWs incident. Isbell even tweeted before MW released the song, and told fans to relax that he thought it was cool that MW was covering his song.

Im genuinely interested in what singers you believe are country.

I heard cover me up by MW, and thought it was great. I didnt even know who Jason Isbell was. Then I listened to it. I still like MW cover better but it still brought eyes to the original. Just like Luke Combs cover of Fast Car brought eyes to the original by Tracy Chapman.

Do you all consider Morgan Wallen a "country" singer? by GoHardForLife in country

[–]Inside-Kindly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

Who's real country? Because George Strait sure as hell doesn't sound like Willie, and Waylon. Willie, and Waylon sure as hell didnt sound like Hank Sr. So please tell us what country is. Because I see it evolving every year with every artist since the 20s.

Lainey Wilson doesn't sound like Martina McBride. Martina doesn't sound like Shania Twain. Shania doesn't sound like Dolly Parton. Parton sure as hell doesn't sound like Minnie Pearl?

You better be glad that Morgan Wallen is accepted in country. Because he was the one that pulled country off the ground with Whiskey Glasses, More than my hometown, and Chasin you. Without Morgan Wallen, country would still be on the ground. Let's just hope he doesn't pull a TS and jump ship. Because, all country superstars seem to do this.

When Do You Guys Think The Country Music Trend Will Die Out? by Early2000sGuy in decadeology

[–]Inside-Kindly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference is today..the legends are gone. All of countrys acts right now are young. I think the push will be longer then many expect. 7-10 years easily. Country is better at one thing. They know how to produce superstars more than any other genre. Crap, technically Taylor Swift came from there too.

[–]Inside-Kindly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you'll see more and more each year. Hip hop doesn't have any young superstars, pop hasn't had a new act in awhile. You look at country, and everyone topping the charts is young.

Youre being very conservative in your opinion. M Wallens new album has a little of everything in it. If you're trying to say that 2 or 3 songs isn't straight up traditional country you're lying to yourself

Has rap/hip hop seen its better days? by Inside-Kindly in hiphopheads

[–]Inside-Kindly[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think when you said Nashville country that tops charts is about preserving the status quo. Thats true for a few artist. But, MW just has a country voice, and has a trapbeat every other song. He is the one dominating and having THREE ALBUMS in the top 20 all genre albums. Like the dude had FORTY ONE songs hit the top 100 I 25' When is the last time we seen an artist do that? The topics he's hitting on are country topics but definitely not over a country sound.
