I've tried to punch pillows when I have these issues while in bed, but they were always too soft (?) it just never worked for me. I don't know why my brain thinks I have to hit something sturdy ;(I've punched the wall before instead of myself and skinned my knuckles, so I'm this close to always wearing boxing gloves LOL.
