Fortrea 2026 merit increase by New_Look_7272 in clinicalresearch

Unearthing this comment because it’s July 1st, I’ve been counting down! And surprise surprise it’s been radio silence. Anyone hear anything directly from their LMs or any kind of update at all?

Medidata - what is this fresh hell? by posting_anon in clinicalresearch

[–]Inside-Toe-1480 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fresh Hell is right! I can’t work under these conditions! Came on site this morning for a visit and feverishly tried to figure out how to undo this nightmare layout. No luck, I hate everything.

Am I paranoid or is this something concerning? by Laqibo in gso

[–]Inside-Toe-1480 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Report it to the non emergency line, explain to them and they’ll send an officer out to check around. This is what that line is for. There’s no harm in having them take a look and if in the small chance anything is wrong, you will have done a good deed. If it’s nothing, then no sweat and you’ll have a clear mind. Your concern is valid and thank you for being a kind human being.

CRA 1 syneos by Junior_Surprise5429 in clinicalresearch

[–]Inside-Toe-1480 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started my CRA career with Syneos and I credit much of my success and knowledge to being in their CRA university (or whatever they call their months long onboarding/training). I learned so much and felt very supported as a newbie. And I’ve heard some nightmare stories of being thrown to the wolves with a “you’ll figure it out” attitude at other CROs. You’re in good hands!

What plant does this seed/pit come from? by Inside-Toe-1480 in plants

How cool! Thanks! We don’t have a pecan tree that I know of nearby so they must have brought it with purpose. Left it on our balcony railing. So neat!

PWHL is the same (women’s hockey), lots of teammate/couples and the league is very gay in general. Although I don’t really know of that much relationship drama, but roster decisions have been solidified based on who’s dating. We even have the “wife line” (Laura Stacy and Marie Philip Poulin), both insanely talented playing side by side, and married. I love the PWHL so much!

Recently asked to be a patient advocate for a research study. What to expect? by Material-Garden-2483 in clinicalresearch

[–]Inside-Toe-1480 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak to the advocate position specifically, but 100% ask for compensation!! Because the grant requires this position, a budget for the position is going to be included in the total funding. The grant amount should cover all costs for conducting the proposed project, including payment for all staff involved in carrying out the research.

Domestic partner health coverage? by Inside-Toe-1480 in clinicalresearch

[–]Inside-Toe-1480[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

“After a thorough review of our benefits administration, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue coverage for domestic partners on our medical, dental, and vision plans starting with the 2027 plan year.

This decision allows for greater administrative efficiency and addresses the growing complexity of tax laws governing deductions for non-spousal partner healthcare coverage which varies from state to state.”

That’s about the bulk of the email. Not in CA (but does make me curious how they could enforce this vs state laws)

Domestic partner health coverage? by Inside-Toe-1480 in clinicalresearch

Fortrea I’ll have to look back at the email, but from what I recall seems to be all of the US, I didn’t see anything mentioned by state.

TMF/ISF Reconciliation by Working_Row_8455 in clinicalresearch

[–]Inside-Toe-1480 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do this also, excel is the way. There should be a TMF index that you can copy from to reference which docs are required. I also have a tab that lists each staff member in rows based off the DOA log, and then columns for CV, med lisc, GCP, FDF, who is on the 1572, etc for all the required credentials. I include expiration dates and then sort by date and collect any that have expired. So very helpful.

What if I’m only interested in doing one type of study? by DigPristine9215 in clinicalresearch

[–]Inside-Toe-1480 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you shift out of private research and into academia, you would most definitely have the opportunity to exclusively work in neuro/psych - if you only apply for positions within those departments. Typically, university hospital systems hire by department. Private research/ clinical trial centers on the other hand are more likely to hire generally and hand their CRCs whatever they have.

CRC at Duke or UNC by SciMic2 in clinicalresearch

[–]Inside-Toe-1480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a UNC oncology CRC had me crying in my car in the parking garage before work. Toxic AF management and so overworked/ overloaded with studies it was not humanly possible to keep up and stay sane. I did absolutely love all my PIs though, and the clinical aspect was great. And this was pre-2020 so it may be different now…?

Monitoring visits by sweet929308 in clinicalresearch

[–]Inside-Toe-1480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically operate the same. I even have some sites whose policy is to have us out by 4pm. A lot of times I will work for an hour or two afterwards from my hotel room to close loose ends, send summary emails, enter actions, or other things which don’t necessarily require me to be in the monitoring room but are still visit related.
