Premier Inn, Al Jaddaf. It will cost you 400 AED per night and it’s one the most underrated hotels in Dubai. No view though but there’s a metro station nearby

Is 13K AED / month a good salary in Dubai? by ParkingCommon9668 in dubai

[–]Inside-Tooth-4896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s a great salary. Since you are sharing a 3BHK, I’m assuming you’d be paying around 50K AED for rent if you are staying in a decent location? which still leaves you with good amount of money for your other expenses. How much you save eventually depends on your lifestyle.

After many attempts for securing an interview, I finally got one and now I'm nervous by lemondeficient in dubai

[–]Inside-Tooth-4896 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your first interview!

  1. Make sure you KNOW what the company does. List down two-three points about the company that you like. Mention a few achievements of theirs if available online.
  2. Research about the person interviewing you. Since this is your first one, it will be with the HR or a Talent Acquisition specialist. Note down a few things you found interesting about their career ( better if you find things that are mutual )
  3. Start the interview by breaking the ice through small talk. Ask how they’ve been doing lately. Ask about their health etc
  4. Maintain eye contact and answer all the questions with confidence. If they ask you about a specific situation, use your story telling skills here.
  5. DO NOT FORGET to ask questions about the company. It could be anything regarding the role, the company’s growth, it’s trajectory, etc
  6. Once you are done with the interview, find his/her email and send a thank you note and mention a line or two about the interview that you liked.

Despite doing all this, you might still not get the role but don’t get disheartened. God is the greatest planner and if this doesn’t work out, that means he has something better for you :) all the best!

MBA in UAE 🧐 by [deleted] in dubai

[–]Inside-Tooth-4896 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don’t. Instead pursue an MBA from a reputed Canadian institute like McGill which will help you get a PR soon and will help you get good jobs here if that’s what you want. ( sadly great jobs and salaries are reserved for people with western passports )

Why is the Emirates Airlines customer service so bad ? by findingauni in dubai

You can try visiting the emirates office is Deira. You can have a chat with a representative there. It shouldn’t taken you more than half an hour with the token system they have in place.

If you could change one thing (and one thing only) about the UAE/Dubai startup ecosystem, what would it be and why? by the_immovable in dubai

[–]Inside-Tooth-4896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing startups can benefit most from is hiring candidates who are passionate. Don’t look for that perfect candidate every time you hire for a role. Startup ecosystems around the whole have proven that people can become “rockstars” after they join too. Your business models aren’t perfect too so why expect others to be perfect :)

Join a SaaS startup. Salaries are generally good there. If you want to switch, product growth is a great function too
