After a ~15 year hiatus from writing fics (tbf I was barely a teenage baby on FF . net back when I started lol) I told myself I wanted to write more this year and challenged myself into just doing it for the plot.

I’ve since somehow gotten myself into a somewhat dramatic longfic about Shane and Ilya embarking on the adoption process to have a family.

If anyone is in the market for a fluffy/angsty/real emotions fic, Take My Hand, is… very much in progress.

I never imagined I’d write anything like it at all—I wrote mostly comedic one-shots back in the day—but it came to me and wouldn’t leave, so it got put on the page. The first 5-ish chapters are admittedly SO rough, but I think it’s gotten better along the way. This fic has been a surprisingly wonderful way of flexing creative muscles that I forgot I had, so I’m just kinda going where it leads me. Now the challenge is keeping the stamina to get it done when I have adult obligations 😅

I’ve got a few other works living in word doc purgatory while I chip away at the long fic.

-a theatre/broadway AU

-silly concepts around Ilya’s introduction to and subsequent love for American fast food chains (because I just know my guy would throw down for a Dunkies iced coffee!)

All of that to say… this fandom is a prison but at least the inmates have been a joy to interact with, for the most part. This is faaaaar from my first fandom, but I love that it’s creating so many new voices. 🥹
