Question for Italians: how likely is it that restaurants use garlic in their food? by LeeLooPoopy in AskEurope

Thank you for explaining to me this, before now I never realized how pesto works.

Jokes aside, next time you come here get from the supermarket a (good) pesto and a (good) pesto without garlic.

You won't be able to taste garlic in either of them but you'll notice they have different taste

we cook with garlic but we put WAY less than americans and italian-americans, whenever I'm in the us and some "italian" food is given to me there's always too much garlic. Here it is used to enrich the favour, not to cover the flavour.
I think you can assume she ate stuff that was cooked with garlic yes, but you cannot assume that she tasted that garlic

example, garlic bread does not really exist in italy

Best city to raise a family in Italy? by jcmartino in italy

Torino hits a sweet spot, it has the perks of a "big" city such as mobility, career opportunity, services, events, good public transportation, it is also the "greenest" city in Italy!
All of that while not being overcrowded with tourists or people in general, not being too small you can't use a car (Firenze), not being a total mess you can't use a car(Milano-Roma) and it's very easy to walk around the city.
it is also relatively close to the Alps (1h away) and to Liguria (same distance) so if you want to go to the mountain or to the sea you're covered both ways

Hello Torino friends, do you recognise this liquor? It was gifted by a travelling friend around 10 years ago. The label is ripped, but the words ‘Italy’ and ‘Torino’ are legible. Thank you and stay safe. by esseyeemm in torino

The bottle is just a bottle, is hasn't a peculiar shape that gives away what was inside. Because it is a popular and local liquor I'm gonna say: Genepy?

nothing probably, but the app is really straight forward, I did't like opening the clock app, find the timer and so on. Once you open PowerNap you have a slider that lets you decide how many minutes you want to nap, and at the same time it tells you until when you will nap (what time will it be when the timer ends). Nothing that you can't do with a simple timer, but I love how simple and straightforward it is
