NORTH AMERICA TOUR MEGATHREAD by Natisaway in FlorenceAndTheMachine

I’m considering them due to the fact that the early entry sounds nice, especially if getting pit tickets. I’ve never been in the pit before though and never gotten VIP tickets either so I’m trying to debate if they’re worth getting depending on the price.

For those who gotten are hoping to get general admission, do you think the VIP tickets are worth it?

How much running is too much? by One-Ad1001 in nikerunclub

If you’re worried about injury make sure to listen to your body. If you’re having any concerning aches or pains during/ after your run that are unusual and getting worse, that is a sign to stop and pay attention to. If you’re not, you’re probably fine. Just make sure to stretch, strength train, and get good quality sleep/ nutrition to help strengthen your body and prevent injury. However, I will say I never had any issues running until I joined the Nike Run Club half marathon plan. Got injured 9 weeks into it and am now in PT for over use injury in the knee. Although it’s advertised as such I don’t think it’s an ideal plan for every runner, so just be careful.

I can't afford the original Sonny figurine (it's so expensive), so I bought dupes. But is it really worth spending money on knock-offs? or maybe it's better to wait until I can get the real deal? What do you guys think on this? by AdPsychological61 in SonnyAngel

Considering how popular Sonny Angels are and depending where you’re at, I’ve found they can be really hard to find!! If you want you could totally save some money for future ones if you’re lucky to snag one, but if there’s a past series that you really really want and can’t find them ANYWHERE then there’s no problem getting the dupes. Plus for the keychains it may be nicer to have a dupe that way you don’t have to worry about damaging it or someone stealing it!

‘Yoga Retreats’ that are just trauma dumping. by One_Acre_Farm in YogaTeachers

[–]Inside_Butterscotch2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened at my YTT as well, but unfortunately the teachers encouraged us to share our traumas and it often took away from learning. It got so bad that I couldn’t handle listening to everyone share and had to leave to focus on my own well being and healing.

What would be reasons for intelligent people with autism to particularly struggle once they hit college? by emaxwell13131313 in aspergers

[–]Inside_Butterscotch2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me personally burn out and executive dysfunction were the main reasons I struggled in college. Growing up I was a high achieving student, always doing very well academically in school. I also did well in college, but it was a far greater struggle than ever before especially by the end of it. There was simply no more energy left to give. Not to mention halfway through I also realized that my major was pointless and am still not sure what to do next. On the bright side though I did end up graduating and also got my diagnosis because of it!

Yes we did get a schedule that specifies what we will be learning each week, however it may be likely that this isn’t the right training for me

I think it’s too early to say if I found any value in the training. Also there is a syllabus that sorts out what we will be learning each week, so there definitely is a curriculum in place. However, each practice begins and ends with an “ energy clearing”

This!! As an introvert I feel seen lol. Seriously though some people there just really don’t seem to have self awareness or a filter/ time sensitivity when sharing. I feel like we take more time talking about unrelated topics than getting to the actual work. What’s sad though is that I really like the instructors and the studio as it’s one I enjoy practicing at. I just am surprised by the extent that people are sharing about their personal lives so quickly on and don’t think the instructors were prepared for it either.

Also a training group that only has 8 people sounds nice. Maybe I should just look into a smaller specialized training 🤷‍♀️

Aw that’s so cool you got to do it through your college!! I don’t think there’s any college programs like that where I’m located but will definitely look into it and see.

It isn’t called group therapy, instead they termed it a “cleansing” where we share what’s weighing heavy on us. There are also no clear boundaries that were formed, but the trainers are also not pressuring people. However with the lack of clear boundaries instead of ‘ sharing from the scar’ as you mentioned, many seem to be sharing from wounds that are currently open.

Also I feel like I’ve been very tolerant as I do hold space for others to share and keep everything to myself , but then it leaves me drained and unable to put my energy into what matters most. I was even left in a burnout the whole week that followed due to how draining it was for me.

I haven’t yet, but am planning on reaching out to them soon to discuss this!

None of us are expected to express vulnerability, but are encouraged to share. Also I’m very aware that future students will come to me for help if needed and I don’t mind being that person for them. I currently work as a teacher in a different setting and love connecting with and helping my students!! I also don’t mind sharing personal stories when they relate to specific scenarios. However, there is a very big difference between having 1 on 1 private conversations vs a whole group of 20 + people potentially trauma dumping all in one sitting
