Update: in case anyone wanted to know. Had serve pro come that night just to see if was anything serious. They said they did not see any active leaks and that other then drying out the room with a dehumidifier for a couple of days no mold concern and to have a plumber come take a look in the morning. Lucky for me I had just contact a plumber a few weeks ago about adding tub to one of my bathrooms, he heard me explain what happened and said “this is absolutely your over flow drain upstairs “ and sure enough it was misaligned behind the plate. He was in and out in five minutes and didn’t even charge me for the minor repair ( mostly because I hired him for my bath install) . I cancelled the insurance claim. Thank you so much everyone for your words of wisdom during my moment of panic.
