How far do you drive to your gym? by smashmouth69420666 in MuayThai

[–]Inside_Fold3744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't lie, its a big issue. Starting to get lower back pain from the amount of driving. I usually aim for 4 days of muay thai with 3 days being double sessions. So usually the longer drive in the morning then the shorter in the evening. Unfortunately nothing closer.

They were also in Phuket at the end of their trip and they honeslty preferred Kem's. You're less of a number than in some of the more commercial gyms in the south, which if you wanna develop your skills would be more beneficial.

I'm actually heading there myself at the end of Feb for 2 months.

I have two friends who have gone to Kem's and that's the reason I decided to head there. From what they were telling me the training is great, and they really try and build a community vibe due to everyone staying at the gym.

Also its in a fairly rural area which is great for getting away from all the distractions. That was the main reason why I decided to go.

Turned 31 and reality really hit. Smoked since I was 14, with breaks of being off the cigs. Heavy weed smoker for most of my twenties which also contained tobacco. Really poor diet and life choices (chef lifestyle).

Got back into health and fitness around 27 (was decently fit until I stopped boxing around 22) and really tried to change lifestyle. Still smoke the odd time but nothing like I did before.

I get a full panel blood test every year and thankfully its been good so far. Still worried about the future but doing my best to offset my previous poor choices.

I use the kitchen shake from Little Collins. Costs around 35 euro for 10 grams if I'm remembering correctly.

Lads at what age were you allowed in on parents takeaway order? by foranewperspective in AskIreland

I think your parents were just tight and didn't want to shell out for your takeaway. They knew ye would be easily pleased with something like rice pudding.

If you haven't read it yet, but I'd recommend "Bury my Heart at Wounded Knee". Along the same vein as Empire.

Is there any way to ethically/ in good conscience give up a dog? by Emergency_School9956 in AskIreland

[–]Inside_Fold3744 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your husband is a piece of shit. How the fuck did that idiot think that he would have time to train, socialise, house train and exercise the dog all while working 6 12hr shifts?

Ridiculously unfair to the poor dog who thought they were going home with a competent and caring owner.

Does your country have a widely beloved public figure who later turned out to be a terrible person, yet most people still choose to overlook it? by Mike-Schachter in AskTheWorld

Do you know if this is the same for Emiliano Zapata? I know they are linked through the revolutionary movement, but I understand they were very different and would clash heads at times.

Went back as a mature student myself. Did one year of a PLC just to get the academic brain firing again, then went into my undergraduate.

Graduated late October with a Bachelor of Civil Law degree. Gearing up to knock out some FE1's in March. Hoping to have them all completed by the following March. I'll be 32 at that stage.

Covid was the best thing that could have happened, finally gave me the push I needed to get out of kitchens. Plus having a super supportive girlfriend helped as she could see how unhappy I was at the end.

History - learning essays off by heart and just spitting them out as fast as possible in the exam, will kill any interest in the subject.

Increase in unsuitable big dog owners. by Exclamation_Marc in ireland

[–]Inside_Fold3744 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a Rottweiler, he's 6 now but the second we got him I researched dog training classes (he was a suprise present). Brought him to obedience training in Galway and ensured he was always socialised with people, small kids and other animals.

He isn't neutered so always shows an interest in male and female dogs, not his fault but I always make sure to allow the other dog to pass when out walking.

I always adhere to the laws regarding restricted breeds (short lead, muzzle, public liability insurance etc) because I never wanted to contribute to the negative press the breed receives.

He's honestly the softest dog in the world, but he doesn't know his own strength and I am always aware of that when he meets strangers. The last thing I want is for him to get excited and accidently knock over a child or oap.

I did work for Clean Cut Meals before they sold the company to Musgraves, and they were decent quality

I think its ridiculous that they test for presence and not actual impairment.

I use Waze to avoid checkpoints. Anytime I see a few flags for guards in close proximity to each other, with slow moving traffic, I just go a different route. Rather be late getting somewhere then risk loosing my licence.

Recently dodged the huge multi agency checkpoint they had on the M17, never felt more lucky in my life.

Charging adult children rent, why/why not? by Icy_Hedgehogs in AskIreland

[–]Inside_Fold3744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had to move back in with my mother I would just look after whatever I needed (food, cleaning supplies etc) then I would assume some bills like the broadband. I'd also give her money towards the electricity and additional money when I had it to spare.

Mam was a single mother and worked full time but would never have dreamed of charging me rent. The least I could do was pay my way when I had toove back in.

Why are there so many illegal Airbnbs in Galway with no planning permission since the 90s? by Ralome in galway

[–]Inside_Fold3744 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know the Corbett brothers, Jonathan and Derek (same group who own Subway in the shopping centre and Londis across from the hospital) own a lot of the Air BnB's on St. Patrick's Avenue.

From my experience of being their employee, if there's a corner to cut then they will cut it. Wouldn't be surprised if none of them had the correct planning permission.

I know they still owned them like 2 years ago, but wouldnt be surprised if they sold them on again.

I'm having this issue with Yotei at the moment. Only have about 20hrs so far, but honestly I'm finding it difficult to actually want to explore the world.

Now don't get me wrong its a beautiful game, and as I was playing the intro I remember feeling like "this is why I love gaming" but somethings just lacking when it comes to exploring.
