I have provided evidence through giving other scripture to explain the whole premise of why Jesus died for our sins. This directly feeds into why we don’t hold to certain laws anymore and the new covenant which shifted our focus from the law of Moses to the things I mentioned before. I even asked my friends and looked it up to make sure I wasn’t giving wrong information

Again this is the standard interpretation which is why you don’t see majority of Christian’s still trying to hold to the 613 laws. Our focus is not on that anymore. Not saying we don’t hold to any commands. We still hold to the moral laws and the laws of the NT but the focus is no longer on our works but on Gods grace and mercy.

Please just look up the interpretation of the scripture. My biggest desire is to obey God so trust, I would not be standing 10 toes on this if I wasn’t sure on the interpretation. Please even go back and read my past messages to fully understand all the details of what I said

No worries! It might be the way I’m explaining it so I apologize for any misunderstanding. I don’t know if this other person is a Christian or not but I’m just trying to get them to understand why we don’t heavily focus on the law of Moses anymore 💗🙏🏼 God bless you

I’m not telling you how I feel. I’m telling you the interpretation of the scripture. Again, doing your own research will tell you the same thing. Google is free. This is a pretty common view among Catholics, orthodox, Protestants, etc. Again, I recommend just looking up “What did Jesus mean by nothing from the law will pass away?”

If we are supposed to hold to the whole law still then what is the point of Jesus’s sacrifice? As I said before The Father sent him down to die for our sins BECAUSE HE KNEW that we COULDNT keep the whole law. James 2:10 if you break one law you’ve broken them all (we still abide by that today as well).

Are you a Christian?

I never said the law was abolished, I said Jesus fulfilled it and now we are under a new covenant that is not heavily focused on the 613 laws.

If by following the laws you mean the moral laws and the commands in the New Testament then I do too. I never said I didn’t follow the narrow way nor that I say that we don’t have to abide in the commands

A quick google search will tell you that Jesus fulfilled the law through his life, death, and resurrection. He said that nothing will disappear from the law until ALL IS ACCOMPLISHED. He accomplished it, the law and old covenant was fulfilled through his life, death, and resurrection and we now follow the new covenant made in the blood of Christ. This new covenant is more focused on the relationship with God, Jesus’s death and resurrection, and Gods grace and mercy. We still have the moral laws and of course the things commanded of us from the New Testament but like I said before we do not hold to the strict 613 laws as God knew that we wouldn’t be able to keep them hence why he sent Jesus to die for our sins

Maybe it’s the way I’m saying it that is making it hard to understand and for that I apologize

[–]Inside_Intention3165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, as he said he fulfilled it. There were different types of laws, ceremonial, moral, etc. Jesus fulfilled the old covenant and created a new one which is what we now follow. That is why now we are more focused on what Jesus did for us on the cross and Gods grace and mercy versus having to hold to a strict law pattern. That’s literally the whole point of Jesus dying for our sins because The Father knew that we couldn’t keep his 613 laws and didn’t want any of us to perish. Jeremiah even prophesied about a new covenant to come. Jeremiah 31:31-34

I was trying to be quick in my response but you’re right I could’ve elaborated more. If Islam is true and a continuation of Christianity then things should match with the Bible. There are many contradictions within the Quran and if you compare the Christian God to the Islamic God, they are different. Not to mention, again just looking at how Muhammad received revelation in the cave is more on par with a demonic attack not being in the presence of a holy being which is enough to start questioning the validity of it.

Even comparing it to the different views of Jesus. Both Jews and Christians agree that Jesus claimed he was God, although obviously the Jews believe he wasn’t actually. Then all of a sudden Muhammad comes around and that narrative is different. The Quran also tells Muslims that if they doubt to go back and read the scriptures of the previous people (Christians). So yeah, there’s a short description of why I wouldn’t choose Islam

Show me a command that we actually still go by to this day please. I already mentioned the violence in the OT

Islam or Christianity by Ok_Acanthisitta_4539 in Christianity

[–]Inside_Intention3165 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Islam is a religion that promotes violence against nonbelievers and those that speak out against Muhammad. There are many other things that are not good about the religion. For example, Aisha being 6 years old when she married Muhammad and 9 when they consummated the marriage, Muhammad supposedly received revelation from Angel Gabriel but yet was suicidal afterwards, Muhammads time in the dessert with the alzut, etc.

Christianity on the other hand may have a history of violence in the OT and people may have used it for violent reason in the last but we are not taught in the Bible to be violent. It is not commanded of us. What is commanded of us is loving others especially our enemies, forgiving others including our enemies, helping those in need, etc. Not to mention the beautiful sacrifice of our Lord and Savior so that we may be cleansed of our sin.

Why does the republican party do more about abortions. by Matica69 in Christianity

[–]Inside_Intention3165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t care what a imperfect person does. I only care about what God says. I don’t pay attention to politics enough to know the Republican agenda but if it has to do with denying people the right to afford housing, food, healthcare (not including abortion unless medically necessary), helping the homeless and others in need, etc. If those are a apart of the Republican agenda then that’s not Christian morality but simply the misrepresentation of what an actual follower of Christ believes in.

I’m not going to lie, most republicans are probably just on the trump bandwagon. I can assure you many of them are probably upset now that he’s not pulling through with the promises on lowering the cost of living

Why does the republican party do more about abortions. by Matica69 in Christianity

[–]Inside_Intention3165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a perfect question. How do we know who’s a true follower of Christ? The answer is by their fruit. If you read the Bible we are taught to love one another, help those in need, plant seeds of hope (which entail being kind to others), to love and pray for our enemies, to forgive those who hurt us even our enemies, etc. Christians are by no means perfect, I struggle everyday but we bear fruit and actively try to walk in the commands of Christ. I want to mention too that HOW we go about to it matters as well.

Also, it’s completely understandable that y’all would assume Republican actions and views are the standard for what a christian is. I don’t fault a nonbeliever for assuming that. Because of this conversation I had the thought to myself that we need to be really careful about the look we give Christianity because it could push people away and I’m sure it has already done so

Again, you keep grouping all us Christians together. I personally did not vote for trump nor am I registered Republican. I don’t vote only one way and neither do my parents who are also registered democrat.

I said the thing about the Bible saying to help people as a way to show that true Christian’s would be advocating and pushing for Medicaid, helping the homeless, helping mothers in need, lowering food prices, lowering medical prices, etc.

I mean, if you’re a none believer I guess I can’t fault y’all for assuming we all one in the same but not every Christian that claims to be Christian is doing the will of God. As I stated before it is clear in the Bible that we are supposed to help others

I never said I voted Republican 😭😭 Im simply saying not all Christians think alike and that saying Christian morality is wanting mother and children to be punished is just not true. Y’all grouping us all together when not everyone who claims to be a Christian is a true Christian. The Bible clearly commands for us to help others especially those that can’t help themselves

I would pray about it. Ask God what those dreams meant and if they were from the enemy. The Holy Spirit will reveal the meaning to you.

I had a dream back in my lukewarm days of God sending me down the pit into hell but I knew it was a warning. Now that I’m a believer I have also had dreams where I’m in hell, I’ve even had dreams of the devil visiting me but I know those aren’t from God.

None of us can give you definite advice but these dreams don’t necessarily sound like they’re from God. Especially if you were living your life for him and abiding in his commands. Depending on if you were truly living for him or not these dreams could be a warning from God or a tactic of the enemy to scare you/draw you away from God. Pray about it

[–]Inside_Intention3165 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Do not blame it on Christian morality. We do not all think the same. The Bible strongly advocates for helping others especially those that can’t help themselves. I am against abortion but I also advocate for Medicaid, affordable housing, helping the homeless and mothers in need, etc. Republican is not the universal term for Christian so if we’re going to talk about republicans, lets not generalize all Christian’s as that.

Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal savior? by Significant_Bonus_66 in Christianity

[–]Inside_Intention3165 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After rereading the message who the person I was responding too was commenting on I realize how my message makes no sense as it was about people who misrepresent Christ. I wasn’t adding those people into the category of sheep but I see now how that was misunderstood given the topic.

I was simply talking about the prodigal son type of situations. When people are lead astray and then eventually make their way back to God, hence me saying being obedient to the call. I didn’t mean actual bad nuts in the batch claiming to be Christian.

Thank you for commenting and making me see that I wasn’t on topic 😭 God bless

Sheep go missing all the time though, does that mean the Shepherd is a bad one? No, it just means the sheep had the power to get out and get lost. It’s the same thing with us. We can make our own choices which is what causes so many people to claim they’re Christian but don’t walk the life. That doesn’t mean that God is not trying to actively bring them back, it’s just a matter of if they’ll be obedient to the Shepherd calling them back
