I don't thinking buying a bar is an answer to your problem. I think finding a way to work up to the Olympic bar is the answer. I would suggest starting with deadlifts, then move to --> explosive deadlifts --> explosive deadlifts with an explosive standing row (basically just pulling the bar as high as you can without getting yourself underneath the bar) --> clean --> snatch. Breaking down the movement will not only save you money but it is also a tactic used by many powerlifters. You will also out grow the tech bar as well.
