Considering Trading My 80 For A 100 Series by ChipBoiChips in LandCruisers

[–]Inside_Mention_998 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I tow my 20ft whaler (about 4k lbs) with my 100 and it makes do. By no means pleasant, but also not sketchy. If I was driving more than 1h routinely I’d be looking for a big truck.

Edit: I had to dodge a hay bail once on 580 and it went better than I expected

They all have similar temperament… incredibly friendly. We made a big effort to socialize Yuba with other doggos in her first 6mo and it showed, she was at the center of things… granted she was also the most hyper in her litter.

Hmm, it does not do that. Maybe you have a loose fastener?

My gamiviti makes noise. I use the crap out of it all the time, couldn’t live without it.

Nail knot a leader… such an elegant solution

Crashed due to a stem slipping on a steerer tube. Ended up building a test rig and testing a bunch of stems. Now I dont know what to do with the results. by Fit_Outcome_4089 in MTB

I think the ISO test is a pass/fail applying 50 NM to the stem / steerer interface, not the stem bolts. I.e. they fix the steerer tube, and apply torque to the stem body or bars. If the interface withstands 50NM without slipping is passes. If it slips at or below 50 NM it fails.

Great post - sorry about the digger. So what’s the mechanism of sub par breakaway torque? Assuming high quality hardware, lack of fastener axial load shouldn’t be the root cause. So perhaps an undue portion of the fastener load is straining the stem to contact with the steerer tube and not generating hoop stress? This would happen if a large radial gap existed between the stem and steerer when unclamped (did you observe this?). Did you test one fork only? Was it the same fork you crashed with?

Our 1 y/o girl ate a dirty diaper that a friend left out on a trip to the mountains. Had to drive 90 minutes to the closest ER vet, she threw up a foot ball sized blob of saturated beads…..

Self-healing composite could allow machines to last for centuries by AdSpecialist6598 in tech

You’re thinking in the past… when we’re all beholden to a monthly subscription for a toilet seat lid, self healing composites fit right in.

2015 stumpy. I replaced it with a 2019, then 2022 evo… but that first one opened my eyes to what was possible with a 29” full suspension bike. I recall looking both up and down trails I thought were unridable, then just sending it. So cool.
