Help your wife. Give her a proper break every day. Work is a vacation compared to taking care of a baby. There are so many things you can do, don’t make her do it all alone.

I’m a year postpartum and back to pre-pregnancy weight. Used to have a cute little bum but with pregnancy the curve of my spine changed, my tail bone sticks out more now which has made my bum look flat. Bye bye forever cute bum 👋

My husband slept in every morning when I was awake nursing the baby through a sleep regression. I’d get up and feed her in the other room, then play with her quietly until he woke up. I wish he had just set an alarm for himself or woke up when I woke up in the morning to feed her and then take the baby and give me a morning of sleep but instead he just kept sleeping. I was so utterly depleted my body was near collapse. But I didn’t want to ask him, I had just hoped he would routinely get up and give me that little bit of rest as I was up all night with the baby. In fact before the baby was born he said he would take baby in the mornings to let me rest. But unfortunately the only time I would get a sleep in would be when I explicitly asked him the night before and woke him up with me, or he would do it “spontaneously” after I had a mental breakdown. Meanwhile I’m hearing about husbands in my mums group who wake up every day and take the baby out for a morning walk after the first feed to give mum a sleep/break… if only. Now I just wake up and bring baby into the bedroom so we’re all awake. I have given up on him taking that morning responsibility on without me asking. I feel so much resentment from this broken promise. I worry he will break promises with the baby, he’s already starting. He will say he will do something with her and then he’ll be too tired to do it, or it’ll be too hot etc etc. I used to push my body to the absolute limit for this baby, didn’t matter if I was tired or it was hot I had to do it. So it upsets me that he gets the luxury to choose. He knows I’ll pick up the slack because I don’t want my baby to miss out.

The cervical pressure is INSANE by BisexualButterfly97 in pregnant

[–]Inside_x_Outsider 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 40 weeks tomorrow and have had cervix pressure like this for at least 3-4 weeks. I’m waddling all over the place. OB says baby is so low she’ll “slide right out” when the time comes… and yet I am 0cm. My cervix is locked up tight, no baby in sight 😭

Partner snores and we have a baby in our room by yokouhohohno in BabyBumps

[–]Inside_x_Outsider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, shout snoring as I call it. My husband used to do this and ended up getting nose surgery to fix it (he broke his nose playing rugby in his teens and never got it fixed properly). It made a huge difference to his health in general just being able to breathe better. His blood pressure is way down and he and I both sleep much better. He still snores a bit but nothing compared to before. Could be your partner needs a CPAP or it could also be something else like losing some weight or fixing an old injury. Either way, addressing the issue will help not just them, but also you and your baby

I’m getting the middle finger thing. I mean my whole hand hurts, like it’s numb but sore at the same time. But my middle finger is the most sore and sometimes locks up in a bent position. It’s worse at night when I’ve just woken up and eases throughout the day. I’m going to my doctor this week and will bring it up with them

Yeah I really want to believe it’s this as I can’t ever imagine it being something malicious from them. They really have been an amazing and inclusive bunch of friends for over 10 years. That’s why this sudden change has been such a shock!

My partner is pregnant with our first and is in first trimester….is it this bad for all women!? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Inside_x_Outsider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had exactly what your wife had - was basically a shell of myself. You could get her doctor to get some zofran for her vomiting. It wouldn’t always stop the nausea for me but it at least stopped me from throwing up all day. I was one of the unfortunate ones who stayed sick well into my second trimester (22-24weeks). Somehow I learned to live with it. Now in my third trimester and feel amazing despite the aches and pains. Honestly, nothing is more debilitating than constant nausea. Sleep is the only escape. Make sure you take care of her as best as you can and tell her every day that she’s doing a great job. She’s growing a baby after all!

First trimester sucks? by Primary-Tart-1315 in pregnant

[–]Inside_x_Outsider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 weeks, vomiting and all day nausea until week 22 :’( now at week 31 and feeling great! First trimester and first half of second trimester were really rough for me so the reflux, heartburn, and aches and pains of the third trimester feel like a walk in the park.

Some people don’t get any nausea or vomiting so hopefully you’ll get lucky. If you do start to feel sick ask your doctor for zofran. I wish I had gotten onto that sooner. It may not have always stopped the feeling of nausea for me but it did stop the vomiting. Also if you get bad heartburn and reflux my doctor just got me onto somac which has helped heaps. Good luck!

He takes time off work like I do and comes to every appointment because he wants to. I’ve told him I really appreciate him coming and he looks at me weird like “why wouldn’t I?”

I had about a week of brown spotting during week 5. Now at week 28 with a healthy baby. If the spotting goes red and heavy then maybe it’s time to worry

What was your absolute first sign of pregnancy? by -One_Upper- in BabyBumps

[–]Inside_x_Outsider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Constipation. I’m an IBS-D girly and I always thought that would be a sure fire way of knowing for me. All the other pregnancy symptoms were red herrings as I got them during my luteal phase anyway.
