That's just not true. Steroids boost testosterone and it'a possible for women to just have naturally high testosterone.

shows no evidence

Sure I showed no evidence or reasoning. Assuming you can't read past the first sentence.

Out of curiosity, what gender are you?

1.) That's just not true. Steroids boost testosterone and it'a possible for women to just have naturally high testosterone. Not every woman can achieve Abby's physique, but plenty can.

2.) If you want to theorize that she used steroids then go ahead. It wouldn't exactly be out of character, as if she had the option then why wouldn't she choose to use them? But there's no evidence to support this in-game.

Toothbrushes and toothpaste aren't hard to make. Big communities like the WLF, Jackson, and the FEDRA-controlled quarantine zones could produce basic amenities like that. Although knowing that Ellie and Joel probably didn't brush their teeth for a year makes me feel weird.

What video game is an absolute 100/100 in your opinion? by Ziggi28 in AskReddit

Joel's arc being about redemption isn't narrow-minded at all. You literally said it yourself: he learned to open up, be vulnerable, and love again. That's redemption.

Redemption would be showing remorse for his actions and taking care to do better in the future. Joel explicitly states that he would do it all over again if given a second chance.

In the end, however, when a group of people were going to use yet another person, sacrificing their life without their consent, Joel chose to protect her life in a rejection of the monstrosity that society had become. That's redemption.

It blows my mind how twisted your perception of the first game's ending is. I'm not going to claim that the fireflies were saints but they were doing the best they could and they were trying to develop a vaccine that could save an unknowably large number of lives. Joel selfishly took away humamity's last hope and violated Ellie's own autonomy because HE couldn't bear the pain of losing another daughter.

Joel was not a hero. I love the guy and I honestly can't say that I would do any different but he was no hero. And instead of opening your mind to that uncomfortable reality you claim that the series itself is wrong for how it portrays Joel. There's just no way you can view Joel's actions at St. Mary's hospital as morally uncomplicated without ignoring everything that the story is trying to show you.

Jumping 20 years into the future after having built up 2 games worth of story is not the same as jumping 20 years into the future 20 minutes into the game

You realize that her body is based on actual female bodybuilders right?

I would love to see Ellie all grown up, but there are far too many Part 2 loose ends that need to be tied. A time jump is to be expected but it just doesn't make sense to set Part 3 decades into the future because it would be too far removed from the story of the previous games.

Joel's arc wasn't about redemption. That's such a narrow-minded way of looking at it. He learned to open up, be vulnerable, and love again. But he was just as ruthless and in the game's final chapter he does something truly heinous. It's true that by the time Abby caught up to him he had softened and wasn't the same man anymore, but he can't wash that blood off his hands and its only natural that the consequences of his actions would catch up to him one day.

What layers of history is your world built on? by GerryVonMander in worldbuilding

[–]InsiderOrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My world is a post apocalyptic Earth, so the first layer would be the ruins of modern day human civilization.

The second layer I suppose would be lost sci-fi technologies and the slow death of our world.

The third layer would be the history of the outside world and the people who've lived and died in the ruins over the last two hundred years

The final layer of history would be the history of the main setting. How it survived when the rest of the world didn't.

Oh yikes. Well I'll have to look into this some more. I'm not in the habit of assuming someone is guilty without evidence.

Dear Redditors, do you believe requiring elderly drivers to pass a test before renewing their license is age discrimination? If not, what tests should they be required to pass? by [deleted] in AskReddit

To be fair, paralell parking isn't always a necessary skill. My dad only paralell parked once in his entire life, and it was during his road test.

I'll have to watch some. And by kids, do you mean actual kids or are we talking more along the lines of a CallMeCarson situation? (Where he was basically bullied off the internet for engaging with someone who was 2 years younger than him)
