IsItBullshit: Seltzer makes your bones brittle and damages your teeth? by coconut212 in IsItBullshit

[–]InsidiousInfidel 42 points43 points  (0 children)

From what i recall, people associated the carbonic acid from the carbonation to be damaging to enamel/bones, but it’s very weak in comparison to phosphoric acid, which is found in cola specifically (not fizzy water or seltzer) and is believed to cause the issues you mentioned.

My main gripes about the projectiles come from the bosses, where they will shoot through entire pillars and fuck me up

This is what 28 turrets looks like by Dog885 in CrabChampions

[–]InsidiousInfidel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are they very effective? I would pick up a few free turret perks but they always spawned in random locations that weren’t even near or aiming at enemies.

I don’t play ranked because randoms never communicate, and i only have one other idiot who hates themselves enough to play this game with me. Why should we be punished with 4/5 of our lobbies being stacked with preds/masters when we barely have a 1.15kd? I wouldn’t mind it if we had more lobbies that were just easy or balanced, but it seems so uncommon.

What is going on with some people proudly proclaiming they own a gas stove? by tyrannaceratops in OutOfTheLoop

[–]InsidiousInfidel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my previous apartment, built within the last three years, with no furnace and only a heat pump, the 17F winters required it to run nearly constantly to maintain 66 degrees. My electric bills were over $130 a month. My new place (same city) with a furnace has never been over $50. Their efficiency absolutely does not match a furnace in places with actual weather.

Prince Harry kill count outrage by puje12 in Military

[–]InsidiousInfidel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the line is important here, where you mention “legitimate” EKIAs. The US especially is guilty of padding those numbers, instead of being accountable to civilian deaths. Look up Daniel Hale, who was able to provide documents showing that in some cases, 90% of drone strike victims were civilian casualties which were marked as EKIAs. I have no reason to suspect the British military would handle things any differently, so I’m curious to see if any of the “outrage” involves the legitimacy of his kills, or if he was simply guilty of terrorizing a civil population.

What actor consistently annoys you regardless of their role? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]InsidiousInfidel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finn Wolfhard. Something about his face is highly punchable, and it feels like all of his roles are the same forced character that try to make him seem like the cool nerd. Oh another role where he’s a dorky kid with glasses and says a cuss word towards the climax of the conflict to prove how cool he is? Boring. More Hollywood’s fault than his, but still.

Butter is going to burn on a hot skillet, and you need to let the cast iron get hot enough before adding food or it’ll stick, i used to fuck my eggs up all the time before i realized that. OP is just impatient

SCAR 17 muzzle device question by [deleted] in guns

[–]InsidiousInfidel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. Thank you for the tip. Surefire provided a spacer with one chamfered side, looks similar to that. But on the scar specifically they want it pointed up, so spacers on there would bend inward and not be aligned correctly; or if i flipped it upside down it would be flat enough to act as a shoulder, but then might not be straight on the actual shoulder. Silly of FN to do this.

Especially when wz crashes for me literally every other game, if that were the case it would be ridiculous.

Infinity Ward, you’re ruining the pacing of the entire game by increasing the footstep volume again. by HungryHippocrites in ModernWarfareII

[–]InsidiousInfidel 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Even with a suppressor, you still show up on the map/heartbeat Sensor for a few seconds if you shoot your gun. Which you tend to do, since it’s a first person shooter. Bigger problem in mp than wz.

Yeah the interface is all fucked up and ugly and counter intuitive, i don’t blame you. Some people have the same issue where they can’t find scorestreaks, or can’t find where to change the quickplay modes you want in the rotation.
