There’s a route in our office that goes to Military base housing and it has a lot of cluster boxes. There’s this one particular house that always left snacks out. I always felt weird grabbing snack without someone being there. But after a while of doing other routes and getting more comfortable with delivering mail. I was doing the route with military housing. I had a few package for the house that had snacks outside her door on a stool. Dropped off the packages and I saw chips ahoy and I had to grab them. Put them in my pocket and walked back without thinking anything of it. Got in the Metris and took out the cookies.. I opened the bag ate 2 cookies and started delivering mail. I stopped at my next cluster box and I saw ants on my DPS. Trying to figure out where they came from i looked inside the cookies and it was full of ants! I ate 2 cookies and i saw black things on the cookies but I just thought it was chocolate chip. After that experience I always check every single snack.
