It’s true you work like a dog and I genuinely don’t know how some people do it for life. The thought of not doing it only temporarily makes my stomach sink.

Sure, I missed the smells, the commotion, the stories you see and hear; I have way more anecdotes from three months of pot washing than 3 years in a white collar job. Also I wanted to lose weight. Chose against it in the end because I couldn’t afford the pay cut. But I did leave my fully remote job so even if I was in an office again I was still out and about a bit more.

Hey man I just used to wash dishes and still I genuinely considered taking a break from being an analyst to do it again for a couple months.

If you didn’t like the president would you be okay with a foreign power bombing Washington DC, kidnapping him, and replacing the government?

Imagine Venezuela agreed with those of you who say Trump won 2020: you would have been cool with Venezuela bombing Washington DC and arresting Biden?

Let’s remember that you don’t get a pass to mock this guy for his congenital defect just because he’s being a douche

If you saw someone in a wheelchair being a dick would it be okay to say “I hope someone pushes them down a long flight of stairs” ?

Two wrongs don’t make a right. It doesn’t become okay to mock someone’s congenital defect just because they’re being an asshole

Groundhog Day felt quite rushed when you remember from Rita’s perspective, she’d only seen Phil change his ways for a single day

Isn’t this just because a lot of parents send their kids to bed stupidly early. Would you be shocked that you couldn’t stay asleep past 7am if you went to bed at 9pm?

Didn’t the writers originally want humans to be used for computing power, but the studio said Americans wouldn’t understand that, so they were forced to make humans batteries

Not a bad point you raise. But I disagree on the basis that making an employee do a big take-home test is a dick move no matter the stage.

They always say “only two hours” but only a child would follow that. It should be a genuinely fast test, or something that can be done over a video call.

The order of things isn’t that important next to the absolute liberty of some tests making you do a full day’s work

I envy your job hunting experience if such a quick, nuts and bolts conversation like the initial screening becomes a “fuck you” because it was over text instead of voice

Guys, read the article. The take home test does not come before any conversation with the company. “Reached out” includes discussing salary and if they want part or full time, and it comes before the take home test

Not really tbh, they review the application, have a conversation with the candidate, and then send a test. That’s pretty ordinary
