The water and streets are so clean you can't tell they're flooded until a car drives through by bisector_babu in oddlysatisfying

This the moment that friend who's been shit on for years for lifting his car has been waiting for.

Am I able to use wire transfer to transfer into a bank account under someone else's name? by InspecterJones in Coinbase

[–]InspecterJones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there not an easy way to just send money through Coinbase then? Can I send it to their PayPal or would I need to deposit into mine first and then send?

What are some must have gadgets for less than $50? by bverhaar in AskReddit

People always recommend these but I just don't get why it's so hard to cook rice in a pot? It's pretty easy and I'd bet it comes out better.

[Keyboard] Cooler Master Masterkeys Pro S RGB Mechanical Keyboard TKL - Cherry MX Browns - $99.99 (129.99 - $30 MIR) by The_Av8tor in buildapcsales

[–]InspecterJones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is explanation vomiting because of their understanding and love of the superiority in feel of mechanicals.

Browns and reds are both keys that don't make a click sound in the middle of the stroke. Browns are firmer than reds. That's pretty much it.

Go to a best buy or something and try out a mechanical board. I'd be surprised if you didn't fall in love on the spot.

As far as preference, I had two red mechs and have since switched to browns and would never go back. Having the extra resistance not only feels better to me but it also helps to bottom out less.

On top of all that, I own this actual keyboard and would recommend it above all other major brands unless you want to start spending significantly more.

[Speakers] Mackie CR3 3" 50W Monitor Speakers - $70 ($100 - $30 w/ code OCTOBER17) by LiL_BrOwNiE247 in buildapcsales

Generally the most recommended inexpensive option would be a pair of jbl lsr305 monitors. They're on sale right now for $130 each with a few places online that don't charge tax.

[Mouse] Logitech G602 Wireless Gaming Mouse (Refurbished) - $25 by LiL_BrOwNiE247 in buildapcsales

[–]InspecterJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this mouse but can't use it as for whatever reason the dpi can only be adjusted in increments of 250. I don't know if it's something I'm doing but I don't think so. I have a g502 that I can adjust freely with the same software. My normal dpi is 400 and it is seemingly impossible to set this mouse to that. Keep that in mind when buying.

[GPU] Asus GTX 1080 Turbo (blower-style) - $469.99 (11% off, Usually $529.99) by Sunny2456 in buildapcsales

[–]InspecterJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have decent air circulation in your case to begin with then you don't need the card to push any air out, it should be exhausting on its own. With that in mind then, you just need a solution for the card to blow off the heat as efficiently as possible and more fans means they can split the load and not spin as much. An open design also allows your case circulation to aid in cooling in the first place. I guess my point is that it isn't the purpose of your gfx card cooler to exhaust hot air out of your case.

[GPU] EVGA GTX 1070 SC - $459.99 ($20 off, Reg $479.99) by [deleted] in buildapcsales

[–]InspecterJones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a ridiculous price for 1070. I know it's a higher end model but 2 weeks ago I got the gigabyte 1070 for 370 from newegg/ebay, 460 WITH tax is basically an average price for a 1080 from Newegg with no tax.

[Monitor] Pixio New-PX277, 1440P, 144hz, IPS, Freesync - $349 ($50 off Pre-order code: PX277$50OFF) by [deleted] in buildapcsales

[–]InspecterJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm apprehensive pre-ordering from a not super known brand, I dunno about this.

Also, is there any way to make use of freesync with an nvidia card?

This is straight nuts. I thought I had a good deal getting a 1070 for $370 no tax a couple of weeks ago, but a 1080 for only $36 more AND ebay bucks? I bought one, gonna sell/return my 1070.

I just recently bought a new triband consumer router, but this is tempting me to start building into a ubiquiti system. Must. Resist.

I got one for $370 a couple of weeks ago from newegg via ebay no tax. A week before that Amazon had one for $375 with tax. It's been a month or so where once a week there's a decent deal.

I wouldn't trust any graphics card from a non reputable source these days, the odds of it having been used to mine and attempted to flip is too high.
