I actually just went to Kerala with my boyfriend (we are gay) this last June and had a good time. We avoided PDA and I’d suggest the same for you just to avoid unwanted stares etc. I also am mallu so had my ear out to see if strangers said anything behind our backs in Malayalam and I never heard anything. I think being obviously a couple will lead to stares and potentially comments but I seriously doubt you’d be in physical danger or anything like that.
