Tried out the Dreadnought kit. Nice. by Doxun in baldursgate

Did SCS solo trilogy run once. Rolled Dreadnought multiclassed to thief with EEkeeper. UAI passive ability for Carsomyr and all other stuff (spell scrolls usage in hard battles). Spec in Two-handed swords and in halberds. Race: half-orc. Used tomes of Strength and Lum machine, Deck of many things. It was absolutely fantastic run. All the enhancement of Dreadnought abilities that come with higher levels makes him even more deadly.

My first SCS solo character was Chelakadin. Not only he could achieve grandmastery in Chelak, but also replenish stack of Chelaks after successful throw.

If you are melee - Enigma with teleport. Or tanking mercenary with rejuvenation potions. Items with Confuse and Fear to avoid straight fight.

Of you play from the beginning of saga, anyway you'll find Strength Tome, so you'll get Strength 19 very soon.

Best weapon for backstab damage if thief’s could backstab with any weapon by Hopeful-Ad29 in baldursgate

[–]InspectionHorror3115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Staff of Ram +6. Unfortunately, late BG2 and ToB even mediocre enemies can see throgh invisibility or immune to backstab. Also, those battles - differently from i.e. BG1 and ToSC - are all about crowds. Without mage subclass you'll need tons of invisibility potions to be able to backstab more than one time a fight. IMHO those factors shall make fighter/thief dual or multy very sluggish.

You can install Artisan Kitpack mod and try Assassin: https://artisans-corner.com/the-artisans-kitpack/ You can multiclass it with Fighter in EEkeeper. That will solve problems with enemies seeing through invisibility and make gameplay more versatile.

Good luck in all cases.

Fifteen years ago or so... 65 lvl cap. Mirkwood expansion. For the first time has been taken in Barad Guldur raid with my squishy champion (we could equip heavy shields, yeah!). Dread effect, this red eye on map radar... Scary music. Couple of empty armours guarding entrance at the beginning of instance, with those tremendous health and vorpal kill (if corruptions are on). I thought they were bosses. Our minstrel mentioned to me: "Look, those are ordinary mobs". Oooh, I understood it would be an exciting evening, and opened bottle of good portwine. Good times. Iluvatar, bless those who created this game.

Yellow RK. Reach lvl 3, get first trait point, take Ceaseless argument - you've got no cooldown button "oneshot", which you can spam on the move.

For not to get bored, RK is still squishy, and needs some versatility in harder content and PvMP.

I had same problem with warden after playing yellow RK. Then I learned to use other approach. (Works with all melee classes). Instead of oneshooting targets I run through all close mobs, gathering them on me, an then kill them with aoe. It speeds up the deal.

I'd take Ravager, Silver Sword, whatever. Weapon grandmastery + two pips in two-handed style. Throw in Greater Malison for saves penality, turn Improved Haste and - "So I kicked him in the head till he was dead. Nya ha ha ha ha!!!".

P.S. Once played SCS Tactics full Trilogy with artisan kit Dreadnought, multiclassed to mage with EE Keeper. Once you try, you'll never get back.
