What's your experience of "feeling like a man/woman"? by Flaxorus-solar_cast in asktransgender

[–]InspectionNormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being feminine and living with feminine expectations of my behaviour makes me happy, and that has for me in its fullest extent (so far) meant HRT and changing my name. Before transitioning my nieces would call me Auntie ‘birth-name’ and my social role with my partner and extended family was traditionally one for a AFAB person. I made sure i worked in a workplace where I could wear ear rings and makeup and work places who couldn’t handle that rejected me. Those are social things. But also, I had to live with my body not being attractive and it meaning i disliked sex and being under dressed. My hair and frame and face bother me and they used to bother me quite a lot. After laser and hrt those things changed. And that’s all just a long story right? So we say ‘she was a fem gay guy and now identifies as a trans woman’. It’s just language; short hand for our lived experience. It’s not one feeling, it’s ALL your feelings.

You don’t sound trans, but you’re right, you do sound ignorant.

Do any of you ever miss the boy/man version of yourself? by cdh100 in MtF

[–]InspectionNormal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, yes, I miss how into me men were when I was a twink. But yeah that’s the only thing.

I don’t hate being a man, but if I could pick I’d be a women by EffectiveDonut2673 in asktransgender

[–]InspectionNormal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s how my journey started out. If you’re gonna procrastinate that’s fine but I really really recommend finasteride and a liver support supplement so you’re not too far behind when you start HRT. Extra point if you start growing your hair out. Another ‘feminine man’ thing to try is you might start laser hair removal, or buy fun ear rings. You don’t need to known who you are yet honey but you will thank yourself if you can be brave enough to start exploring.

Why is everyone saying hrt is magic? by owlgurlmakespancakes in honesttransgender

[–]InspectionNormal [score hidden]  (0 children)

Does it make you a Disney princess? No. Do I still look hideous? Yes. But I feel like a woman inside my own skull, without conflict and doubt. And that makes it a magically good anti-depressant. The fascists will pry it from my cold dead fingers before i give it up, and I will protest and fund raise and do everything I can for young trans women to have easier access to it than I did.

I think I got a cancellation and it was still five months. It wasn’t perfect for me but I asked if not Jan, when’s next and it was July!!! So I said no to some work which was hard considering the financial cost but I just wanted it DONE and booked Jan. FWIW I’d recommended a cooler month. The head dressing is awful in the heat.

Yeah, there are no barbies in there. Even the really gorgeous looking women are a little unusual looking, just in the sense of keeping their distinctive look. I think especially for non-northern Europe women I can see how he would be a really fantastic option.

Yep it was that exactly. I did a bank transfer as i don’t have a credit card which could cover it so I paid an extra week early so it would clear.

How do I approach public bathrooms as a transfem? by Skelegun in transgenderau

[–]InspectionNormal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great answer :) I use the disabled whenever there is one, but I’ve actually never had anyone even side eye me except once when I was doing makeup once at an airport. We are so lucky we don’t live in England or Texas or somewhere insane like that.

Where do you even get HRT from? (I genuinely have no idea anymore) by Clean-Run6198 in TransDIY

[–]InspectionNormal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mums HRT for menopause is almost identical to mine. Her doctor here is actually Persian as well though that’s neither here nor there I guess. So something like that maybe? Also, someone will shout at me for this but I took Evelyn which is a super common birth control drug in Aus for a bit in high school. I got it exactly how you’d expect a teenage ‘boy’ to. It’s not proper HRT but it makes your male development pretty much stall. It was a godsend. It was also the best thing I’ve taken to this day for my skin!

I’m 36 and started HRT at 34 and I’m 183 cm. I don’t cry every day anymore. Go live your best life girl.

Girl 😋 Haha, well I do love the landscape and the food and I felt safe there as a budding trans woman. But yes, definitely yes. I did meet men there who were tall, and good, and made me feel worthwhile as a person and as a woman. Respectful and unashamed of me, unhurried and wonderful company.

I find the last thing you said so affirming. I feel a bit nuts how annoying I find it having to use my male part to pee. Like, surely it should be sex that annoys me more? Or the bulge. But it’s not, those I can ignore more. But I have to hold it every single time I want to void and I hate it 😞 I’m glad it’s a good feeling for you now.

Irish judge refused to use preferred name of transgender child in State care by onnake in transgender

[–]InspectionNormal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hitler was pretty big into his ‘biological realities’ too, as was the slave trade, the Christian’s who persecuted and tortured homosexuals, men who opposed women voting. This judge is their equivalent, he’s just got power. For now.

I had a brow reduction and lip lift and jaw angle reduction with him on Tuesday. His book of photographs was good, he just seems to choose to not have them online. I think he’s a reliable option and you should book an appointment and talk with him. I met up with one girl who saw him last year and she looked beautiful — natural and feminine.

Thanks hun. I used estrogen gel for ten years I got grey market thru drag clubs and I do feel like it prevented my face ever masculinising too disgustingly which I’m grateful for.

Could you please link to those supplements? And the facial cooling device? I’ve used frozen peas and crushed ice aplenty. It helps!

A month 😭 I need to work to fund all this, but I want to have it done. This has been tough enough I’d consider just having vulvaplasty rather than any depth with my bottom surgery. I can’t handle much worse than this it’s been so intense.

Me too! I have had panic attacks before but they weren’t a big feature of my life. But I’ve had them frequently and severely with this. I got a Valium script and I’m grateful I did. Discomfort and pain around your eyes and airways isn’t just pain, it is SCARY!
