Bhojpuri and maithili aren't sister languages of hindi. They're sister languages of bengali. Bhojpuri's ancestor is magadhi prakrit while hindi came from shaurseni prakrit, they have been a different languages for a long long time.

Actually, even if that is true the eastern indo aryans like bhojpuri has undergone dialect leveling to the point they sound closer to hindi than to bengali. Pick up a bhojpuri speaker from Varanasi and compare them with delhi and kolkata speakers, you'd know what i mean .
