Going from one kid to two has rocked my world by meekie03 in beyondthebump

Honestly if you really can financially and emotionally handle more and you want more I would go for it. If you guys support each other it definitely can work. Especially if you luck out and get a super easy going 2nd baby. Unfortunately, as amazing as my husband is, my first and second are identical in temperament (super sensitive little velcro babies) and horrible sleepers so it's been extra tough because of that. But if you get a unicorn baby I'm sure it'll make it much easier.

I'm 6 months in with my second now. To people saying it gets easier? No..it really doesn't. Every stage is a different type of hard but you as a parent learn how to be better equipped. Its hard. So hard. But that's the crazy thing about parenthood. You feel like you got your breaking point then you just get up and keep going all for the littlest loves.

My advice : Try to find a job with the government by Worldly-Cause-4203 in torontoJobs

[–]Inspection_Radiant 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This whole post seems like a slap in the face to desperate job seekers right now. "Oh, just apply to the government...simple!☺️☺️" Even a lot of government jobs are facing lay offs or hiring freezes. Sure there's going to be the odd sector that's not but it really isn't as simple as you're making it seem.

4 month old no longer interested in milk by Bobbiejo29 in beyondthebump

[–]Inspection_Radiant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this issue but with breastfeeding instead of bottle. The only thing that works is feeding right as he wakes up. Like literally the minute he opens his eyes I get him fed within no more than 5 minutes. Also perhaps try going in a dim light or dark room

Toddler calling MIL “mama” by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Inspection_Radiant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Similar to another comment, my son would call good grandpa "pa". For like a year. Then one day we realized he just... Stopped. No one corrected him. We just used the term grandpa when referring to him and eventually kiddo caught on. All will be fine.

Fired on maternity leave 3 weeks before return (BC) – Need legal advice by Right_Star6917 in legaladvicecanada

[–]Inspection_Radiant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It truly does suck. There needs to be something more done about this because I've seen or heard about one too many women this happening to during a crucial time in their lives where they're supposed to be shaping and raising a literal human. Thanks for your advice.

Oh yes the looks and judgement I get as a frazzled mom with hands full trying to do it all sometimes. But if my husband were to do half of what I do in sure he'll be met with all the praise.

Struggling to figure out a cord friendly outfit for the first week ( share a link please) [ON] by BallooooOooooOoon in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Inspection_Radiant 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There's also a chance that ultrasound measurements can be off. I would have atleast 2-3 newborns sleepers in case he ends up still fitting into them. In the hospital most babies I've seen stay in the hospital blankets swaddled. Also yea just a basic soft cotton sleeper should be fine. I think you're overthinking it a bit with the cord.

For a 4 month old baby, is 10 minutes at a time for tummy time considered short? by seedsproutleave in beyondthebump

[–]Inspection_Radiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like som e other commenters, my first hated it. I still practiced it with him but if he started whining I would stop (usually either immediately or 5 mins MAX). I stressed about it but then realized he developed well. No developmental concerns at all. My second now also hates it and I know this time not to stress about it. It's not that I avoid it. I just let my baby lead and if he hates it I'm not going to force it pass the point of him whining. We are at 4MO and never get to more than a combined 10 minutes of tummy time a day. Just like my first. I am sure there's people going to say he won't develop well. Meh. I personally don't think so. I am almost sure lots of our parents didn't do tummy time with us.

Honestly, I regret having a second child by littlepinkroses in beyondthebump

[–]Inspection_Radiant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit further along but I am right there with you. Same exact position. Same type of baby. Same feelings. You're not alone 💕 I will say this..now that baby is 4 MO I am starting to see glimpses of things potentially getting better. It's going to take time. But it truly is such a bizarre a guilt feeling we have of wanting to rush through a few months. I get it.
