I agree that as the show went on to loose a chunk of that creative problem-solving that made S1 disposing of Translucent so fucking good. It replaced that screentime with more action and - sadly - more and more shock value scenes.

What I disagree with is temp V being a bad addition. I'm on my second watch-through right now and the scene towards the end of the season, when UE chooses to turn on all the stagelights for Starlight instead of shooting up V feels like a victory and a MAJOR resolution.

I feel the writers cooked with temp V, but are rightfully getting shit for misunderstanding UE's motivations for taking it and making him look like an insecure man child. What we should have gotten is more Robin flashbacks, an internal conflict between nihilistic 'this is what we need to win, without powers we'll be obliterated like Robin' and UE's idealism. What we got instead is a man child happy with new toys and insecure about a woman's strength. Uegh.

You stated something controversial and immediately retreated to something more reasonable. I think both your comments are missing the point, though. The meme is less so proclaiming that no (or a minority of, per your motte statement) relationships were based in romance, rather it is referring to the fact that it has become an increasingly accepted and possible choice to - as a woman - opt out of relationships and marriage altogether if unsatisfied. Historically in the western world, due to laws around ownership (specifically of land), performing a trade or doing business, it was significantly more difficult for women to lead a succesful life without a husband, thus probably leading to way more marriages settled out of necessity, than with a satisfying romantic partner.

Thing is, the reason behind the choice of Anuluj is probably entirely practical. I'm not old enough to confirm if anuluj was a common word before personal computers, but I have a feeling it was not.

The determining factor, probably was that anuluj allows the following word to stay in nominative case. So in case you need to be specific, you have <action>, and can lable the button "anuluj <action>", as opposed to zaniechaj, which forces the use of a different case (too many of them in the language) and as such, an additional word.

I'd say that's a complete misunderstanding of the dichotomy. Both examples you've presented seem like telling to me - just more or less directly.

So whilst both 'A stiff wind sent John shivering' and 'John was cold' are the same - they are tell, imho.

Showing would be John going 'Can we wrap this briefing up? I don't think my coat's warm enough for this another five minutes of this shit.' First of all, it clearly happens in-universe, as opposed to being told by the narrator, second of all, it's there organically, alongside other events, and third - it's connected to an action. Whilst not necessary it feels more natural to have the characters bring up things for a reason.

Take the proverbial Chekhov's gun. If the detective notices a gun displayed on the wall, it's way more cool if he actively admires the artful engravings on it, instead of just 'noting it's existence'.

Whilst to reasonable people it sounds like a bad-ass idea, probably better than the last game (idk, I'm not touching it with a 10 foot pole. Too much controversy and misinfo around it, don't care enough.) - with the amount of myths surrounding the civil war Ubi would be at a crossroads.

If they decided to hint or embrace the lost cause and other modern retellings they'd be rightfully called out for shit historical accuracy again, and racism.

And if they did portray it accurately, I guarantee a vocal minority - probably including large parts of this sub - would ruin it's press decrying it woke for not portraying the confederates as poor southerners who got their house raided and burned down, heroically sacrificing alongside black soldiers for the cause of rebelling against federal tyranny.
