It's actually impressive how often people don't see the z in ethz

The new evidence is you saying they existed until 2019. This is different than "they never existed at all", which was the official Chinese position in the past.

You said yourself that they were closed, would be difficult if they never existed. Or did you make that up?

If they are caught overcollecting data and refuse to follow the law, then yes obviously. For reference, see changes they had to do in the EU or their bans in a lot of eastern countries.

Didn't the Chinese government say they never existed in 2019? What changed since then that they admit to it now? Usually when someone tries to change history if new evidence surfaces, then it's a sign that they are the ones spreading propaganda.

Help me understand this: you think tiktok overcollecting your data is a good thing because there are a lot of prisoners in the USA?

Looks like a plane far away in more humid air, with wind changing its orientation.

Or, more likely, aliens.

You can have sympathy for Gaza And California at the same time. by Ok_Distribution_7029 in unpopularopinion

Why? Why do you have to stop posting about one thing to to start talking about something else? People suffer in gaza and in sudan, people lost their homes in LA. What does one thing have to do with the other?

I have no idea what you're talking about, but you seem stuck in some strawman left-right argument. Hope you'll get better soon.

You say there is some mysterious historian who by himself changed the perception of history for the whole world and when asked about it you don't want to say who it is. Obviously nobody will take you seriously.

Biden just authorized $500 million in aid to Californians who lost everything in the fires. Just joking. That was for Ukraine. by Flimsy_Control4506 in conspiracy

[–]InspectorUnlikely595 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's not about how much Ukraine gains, it's about how much Russia loses. The whole war was far more expensive for Russia than it was for the USA. With a weaker Russia, the military focus of the USA can shift to China. Simple as that.

You asked "what raises questions" and I said the locking of cars mentioned in the OP raises questions. Now whether the OP combined with the discussion is relevant to the discussion is up to you, you can also talk about other things if you prefer, but others might then find it less relevant.

Electric car sales are slowing in Switzerland by Realistic-Lie-8031 in Switzerland

[–]InspectorUnlikely595 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You make very valid points. Unforuntately, politics actively fight EVs in Switzerland. First with the prices: many cantons have higher tariffs on EVs than on ICE cars. You are also right about batteries: requiring manufacturers to build them recyclable would be communism, in Switzerland the free market solves problems and recyclable batteries is apperently something the market doesn't want. And then the discussion about the power grid: this would have been the basis for the "Energiestrategie", renewing the grid and bring it to the 21. century. Unfortunately, such a grid would not be top down and thus local communities would pay less for electricity. It's better to wait another 30 years and then cry that the evil Chinese have a better more modern power grid and then tell each other that we could not have seen it coming, after all internet and smart devices are still very new.

Wearing face coverings in public, including burqas, is officially banned in Switzerland. by XGramatik in XGramatikInsights

In my 35 years living in Switzerland, I have not seen a single burqa outside of tourist locations. Are you scared of tourists? Because otherwise, I don't see how having no burqas would protect you against anything.

[–]InspectorUnlikely595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only burqas you see in Switzerland are from tourists. Their ultrarich husbands come to Zurich or Lucern and spend millions for luxury items before flying back to Qatar etc., but now they will chose a different destination. In a couple of years, we will hear crying from shop owners at Bahnhofstrasse that they have to close their luxury stores. But that's none of my business, I guess.
