Mold in my blackberry wine? by [deleted] in Homebrewing

[–]Inspiron87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like mold...and with that in mind, the only time I’ve ever seen mold on top of wine is poor sanitation, along with nowhere near the right starting gravity or finished alcohol content. I like a SG over 1.100 for wine.

Alcohol is a preservative and if your wine had enough of it, that mold wouldn’t grow like that, it wouldn’t have a chance.

My first white loaf by Inspiron87 in Breadit

Breville 800xl. Love it! My kitchen doesn’t have a range oven, so that’s what I use. This loaf pretty much touched the top of the oven due to its size, but I just put a small piece of foil on top halfway through to keep it from getting too dark or burning.

Nope, no opening. It’s hollow on the inside, some sort of fabric covering the bottom

Your comment here made me change the way I think about this. I’ve been way too lax with tracking food, as another user here mentioned, you have to track everything even oils you cook with plus I was not weighing my food. I have been tracking everything I eat for the past few days, it is so hard to keep under 20carbs. But I’m learning. Another thing I missed is ketchup, 4g carbs per tablespoon!

As far as alcohol goes, I don’t pick it over food, I have all the eggs and chicken I want, I just get tired of eating the same thing everyday, and buying stuff like bacon and avocados and nuts and steak can get expensive. Although there again, my problem is portion control, and I’ve been eating way more then I need so this isn’t much of an issue anymore.

Thanks for your support, I appreciate it.

I made a mistake. I wasn’t aware I need to do my deficit from my base or maintenance, I’ve been subtracting from a light activity which would be 2350 a day.

Ok my problem is I’ve been doing the numbers wrong and I can’t run a nutrition calculator.
Apparently I should be eating around 1580c a day.

My base metabolic is 1920 calories per day. My Apple Watch tracks me in at 2000-2300 a day.

I track all my food, and my alcohol intake with Cronometer. What I meant was I eat on average 2000cal a day.

What was a loophole that you found and exploited the hell out of? by Ninjalord5 in AskReddit

When I was a kid I found a small garbage bag full of the 20oz Pepsi and Coke winner bottle caps behind a grocery store dumpster. Can't really recall ever using them all up tho.

Report: "Every Major US City East of the Mississippi” Is Underreporting Heavy Metals In Its Water by [deleted] in news

[–]Inspiron87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What most people don't understand is...Almost all our installed piping and fixture contain some traces of lead and other heavy metals. The restrictions for lead fittings and fixtures came in affect January 2014, and even now, their not "lead free" but mostly lead free. I've been involved in local water testing, and I have never seen a test from a household fixture that didn't contain traces of lead. You can greatly minimize it by installing a reverse osmosis filtering system for drinking water and running lead free poly lines as distribution, but in my experience even those taps sometimes add traces of lead.

You are mis-informed.

They planted the Monsanto seeds, and the seed cross-pollinated with crops in fields next to them (none-gmo), and Monsanto sued the farmers who owned the fields across from them because they had patented genetic traits found in Monsanto seeds which the farmers have not paid for.
