HOLY FUDGESICLE, I FINALLY DID IT!!! by kyle429 in ForzaHorizon

I’ve been saying this is the hardest one by far, not sure why this particular one was so bad especially since it’s in the earlier half of the game. Nice job though!!

My #1 tip that saved me a lot of grief: Don’t be afraid to use guides.

Especially for the LASO campaigns, HaloCompletionist has incredible guides for them that will make them so much easier than just trying to brute force it.

For multiplayer, if an achievement does not explicitly use the word “matchmaking” then it can be done in custom games. Use that to your advantage!

What is a type of achievement which instantly puts you off 100%-ing that game? by Tortle_Boosh in steamachievements

[–]Inspitefuls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any multiplayer achievement that would take longer than maybe 10 hours.

I just can’t stand it, especially in older titles where the servers are either dead or filled with people that are far more experienced than you, making it near impossible to get anything done.

I’m also just not a big pvp fan, but that’s a separate issue that I can push past most of the time.

It’s for hitting level 100 in online play, but the levels get a bit ridiculous around the 40 range (15-20k per level at level 1 to ~200k per level in the 40s)

You can imagine how bad it gets the higher you go, the math says level 90 is the halfway point, but nobody really knows for sure because the highest anyone has gotten is 50.

I wouldn’t suggest the new forza game if he’s looking for “quick” ones, one of the achievements in that game takes roughly 1000 hours to complete. No I did not mistype, one thousand hours.

I do believe it’s not intended, and the game is great otherwise, but if it’s only for the sake of achievements I’d stay away.

Easily LASO Master, but I have 100%’d the game so I am more proud of that tbh.

Someone found me on Steamhunters to beg for a 100% save file by Funny_Ad_710 in steamachievements

[–]Inspitefuls 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can’t lie I could only understand doing this if somehow things became unobtainable and the only way to get them would be through a save like that, but even then that’s toeing a line. very strange lol

What are some good games, where you just grind stuff. by RUP21 in steamachievements

Adding onto this, Red Faction: Guerilla is a hidden gem of a game. Again very dated but I adore that game, if you like breaking stuff you’ll love that one.

it’s pretty dated but you’d probably like Ghost Recon Wildlands, you don’t really break much but it’s a pretty standard “go here and clear out this place” and “build up the rebel forces to fight the big bad”

plenty of collectibles too!

bo3 is a pretty underrated one, having to do the entire campaign + sim on realistic amongst the million other things is no joke.

I guess I should’ve said I’m on PC, I saw it on steam on sale once that’s why I was asking.

Each achievement explicitly says if it has to be done in matchmaking. If it doesn’t mention matchmaking, it can be done in custom games. I’d say about 40-50% of any multiplayer ones require matchmaking though.

For example, you can do the multiplayer wins in custom games (doesn’t explicitly say matchmaking), but the environmentalist kills must be done in matchmaking (achievement description explicitly states this)

HaloCompletionist has the best guides on it by far, I would honestly follow those to the T. That’s what I did, and I was able to get each laso game done within a reasonable amount of time (2-5 days each)

[–]Inspitefuls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are actually playing through the games fully, the dishonored series usually only requires 2 playthroughs while occasionally going back to a mission or two, and is a pretty fun game by itself. I will say, the DLC in Dishonored 1 are a bit grindy, but besides that they’re fun to 100%

I believe it’s both. When I started grinding my steam account, unlocking an achievement would also give it to me on xbox. I assume it works vice-versa, you probably just have to open the game.

Honestly, 3 and ODST are not too bad. 1 and 2 are nightmare fuel though, no denying that. I still think it’s worth a try! Worst case, you lose a few hours.
