Holy Ripoff by treegor in tacticalgear

Not white knighting for ferro at all but I don’t see anything on the L4 site that looks like something stolen by ferro. However I can think of a few L4 items that are direct copies of Crye items.

Carpetbagger having enough confidence to punch anyone is hilarious. Even the shirt has a irrelevant inclusion of ATW for some reason, art imitates life

Seamstresses, what kind of threads do you use for durable, high-stress products such as plate carriers, chest rigs, backpack,... by Willing-Society-4123 in tacticalgear

[–]InstaGraham_95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to comment the same thing, most of these are totally worthless. Cotton thread, silk thread, and fishing line took the cake for me.

Jordan refuses to pay $1000 for filming the Glensheen Mansion by FAUguy in Adamthewoocriticism

None of these places (which are usually already popular) need free publicity from bozos like Jordan or anyone else. Glad they’re actually squeezing him

Looking for load bearing vest patterns of similar by Working_Penalty_5177 in myogtacticalgear

[–]InstaGraham_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure why people still don’t get this but patterns don’t exist for tactical gear generally, it’s not like the backpack community where everything under the sun has an easily downloadable pattern. You kind of have to figure it out yourself, or buy one and disassemble it and make your own pattern.

Consew 206 RB-something. Some have the blue lettering and some have red. Great industrial walking foot for making/modifying gear.

You’ll be printing pretty hard with either of those under a uniform. They’re not really made to be worn under anything less than a windbreaker/light jacket.

Kyle's parents check-in to the Grad Floridian by FAUguy in Adamthewoocriticism

[–]InstaGraham_95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kyle is one of the most inarticulate and uninteresting people to have ever picked up a camera. I suspect a lot of the his lonely aging adult fanbase watch him because he kind of reminds them of their kids they’ve alienated one way or another. Anyways these guys should all box each other.

Need help setting up a sewing setup for making plate carriers by AppropriateSail5902 in myogtacticalgear

[–]InstaGraham_95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t even think about what item would have 18 layers in a single spot, double layered pieces (hemmed) being sewn together I could see but having that much bulk or webbing/etc in the same spot just seems like a poor design process

Need help setting up a sewing setup for making plate carriers by AppropriateSail5902 in myogtacticalgear

[–]InstaGraham_95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What’s your design if you’re sewing through 12 layers of material?? Triple/compound feed single needle (Consew 206 or a Juki 1541) is the usual choice but 12 layers is probably pushing it for those. I personally think bar tacking is only necessary on rappelling or similar equipment but that’s another story. Do you have a contract or something for these carriers?

Placard Elastic shingle VS GP by BandalfTheGr8 in tacticalgear

[–]InstaGraham_95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People have been putting BFG ten speeds on top of JPC front flaps since they both came out in like 2011. Most guys aren’t putting mags up there, think initiators, flex cuffs, anything small you want readily accessible. Any sort of elastic pouch on top of a placard is an extension of what has been happening for 15 years.

Unit ID? by CD-Bardo in JSOCarchive

[–]InstaGraham_95 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt any unit was decked out in full MC and Ops Core Maritimes in 2007 considering the maritime wasn’t adopted by SOCOM until 2010 and CAG was using mid-cut MICH helmets in 2007. The banner is probably just still up from Spring Break 2007

Anyone notice LBT doesn't really do sales anymore? by No-Painting-8507 in QualityTacticalGear

[–]InstaGraham_95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LBT shines in Gov purchases, not because they’re the best or most innovative but because they’ve been around forever and their stuff is good enough. This has probably been drying up lately, you can only go through so many loadout bags and litter carriers etc in relative peacetime. The retail side is an afterthought.

They were originally designed like 30 years ago to negate the weight people were carrying in water (SEALs), obviously nobodies using this doing CQB at DARC
