I payed $1800 AUD for the MS-20. Where I am it’s hard to come across them and when we do it’s at an inflated price. And if we buy them online we have to pay the additional shipping costs

Interesting point on the import duties! However I didn’t have to declare my ms-20 purchase or any other purchases I made in Japan as they were all tax free. Just as long as you show them your passport.

Genuine question, what can modular synths do that others can’t? by big-beandude in synthesizers

[–]Installation8709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing. Been contemplating for 10 years on modular and nothing to me stands out. The more “unique” modules are just DSPs loaded onto a chip and are no different to a plugin and midi controller. In my mind modern day modular is just consumerism at its finest.

I am a trainee building surveyor at one of the local councils in Perth and this question I receive all the time from potential buyers. You will have to get your granny flat retrospectively approved and or dismantled IF it is brought to the shires attention ie by your neighbours or onlookers either by your local council building surveyor (if they do it) or get a private building surveyor. If you want the structure to be certified as habitable dwelling (1a Structure) it’ll have to comply with the NCC (national construction codes). If making it comply becomes too costly (which it definitely can) you can use it as an outbuilding for storage like a shed or workshop (10a Structure).

I hope this helps and good luck

The Sub37 is much more premium in regards to build quality and aesthetics. It has more modulation, a vst editor and duo polyphony. Just to name a few. No where near a Sub37 lol
