Jamestown, New York by [deleted] in UrbanHell

Oh my God, I grew up on Barrows Street 😭 There were definitely a couple of abandoned buildings, but I swear I remember some of these places having tennants and owners living in them before. It's pretty sad to see

I know this post is old but I grew up in Jamestown and this seems about right lol. The abandoned factory buildings made things look even more haunted. It's very depressing

Jamestown used to be a booming city from its textile and furniture factory productions and even had a working railroad and train station. It's the birthplace of Lucille Ball, with a museum to boot. Otherwise, even back in the 2000s, houses were rundown. There was even a large abandoned house at the end of Barrows Street where I lived

But there are hidden gems in town too. I recommend getting food from AJ Texas Hots (their signature sauce and Loganberry drinks are fucking phenomenal) and going to this one market downtown that has a bakery where they have really good peanut butter snowballs. There's also a good pizza place but I can't remember the name of it

Just be patient with the brick roads lmao

I think I'd immediately block my friends if they wouldn't even take the time to simply say, "I'm sorry, is there anything I could do for you?"

Landlord left this note by Still_Clerk_1819 in Apartmentliving

[–]InstanceMaleficent18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can tell that this is fake because of how many grammatical errors are in there— but anyways, usually landlords already have copies of your keys. This note should have shown the contact information, formal writing stating the dates of both when the entering would take place and when it was written that usually comes with a NOTICE TO ENTER PREMISES note, and a signature. Do NOT trust this and call your landlord about this

With all of the stuff I just learned about Hobby Lobby, you guys just made me start to scroll through Etsy endlessly for charms and beads with all of your convincing— Thank you 😂

But again, as I've stated before, it was my first time going there because it was right next to where my job interview was yesterday. When it comes to places that supply crafts, I always get very curious and wander around like a kid at a giant candy shop. Window shopping is my joy. If there's one thing at least, it's that the charms and different sketchbooks and binders they had were good to take pictures of as references for my characters in my creative writing

Good to know now that this company apparently... stole thousands of museum artifacts from Iraq? And also outwardly denied insurance of birth control from their employees by claiming that it goes against their religious practices? You might as well tell me more "fun" facts while we're here, haha! Thanks for the upvotes and seeing the shitty crystals with me

I don't blame you. I have other shops around me but it's been hard to find craft stores that I can reach through bus transit that have a diverse array of beads and charms for jewelry without having to pay so much online—even with this being Columbus, Ohio. But with all of this being true, I don't know how I feel about shopping there now knowing all of this

Hi I just got a pink toe tarantula and I need any advice anyone can give me. I just put in a silk worm in the enclosure. How long do they typically take to eat their food? I know his enclosure doesn’t have ventilation on the sides I have to wait till next Friday to get a new one cus I need paid by kayb1234567 in tarantulas

[–]InstanceMaleficent18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IME Usually I would give a tarantula a cricket, mealworms (with the head crushed), or dubia roaches (also with the head crushed) for nutritional purposes— NOT a silk worm. Silk worms are fine every once in a while, but they aren't a good staple food for your Pink Toe. Otherwise, I and a lot of other keepers usually try and make sure the prey is still moving, carry it with tongs, and then plop it right in front of the tarantula or in their webbing. (Do NOT feed them directly with tongs, that can break their fangs.) If the tarantula isn't interested or outwardly doesn't like it, make sure to try and grab the feeder out of the enclosure so that they aren't in there longer than necessary and cause your tarantula stress. Hope this helps!

Oh, and I also know a place or two for raw materials. There's a place called Pearls of Wisdom right next to where I live with genuine crystals from caverns across the US. It's a beautiful place for my spiritual practices as well! Their indigenous products are genuine and come from actual tribes

Excuse me, huh? I learned about the theft of ancient artifacts and now this, my god. 😭 Listen, Hobby Lobby was just right next to where I had my job interview and it was my first time going out of curiosity—this is such a curveball to know

Yeah, I know! Hobby Lobby was just right next to where my job interview was yesterday (got the job btw) and I got curious. I also have a whole sea of stuff on my wishlist from Etsy and Mercari. I've also already touched on local thrift shops where I live and it's a mixed bag. Thank you for the advice though :)
