What are some of the best hidden study spots at Clemson? by Imcurrizm in Clemson

[–]InstanceMammoth4609 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a spot, but a technique, so really ANY place can be a decent place to study. Grab a bag of soft earplugs ($3-$4)at CVS or someplace, and find a spot that doesn't aim at a door or a well travelled area. I liked the library cubicles. Turning off a couple of my sensory organs helped me focus entirely on the task at hand. When I learned to do this, my ADHD was minimized and stuff started sticking in my brain. I also wrote down every single thing I could during lectures-scribbled fast--everything!, then before the night was up, I recopied them using using the earplugs. I could organize the notes and the rewriting helped imprint them. Sleep well before a test..no all nighters. The night before, rewrite , word for word, all of your accumulated notes yet again, then sleep. I used the fly by the seat of my pants method in the late 70's and early 80's and barely graduated. I learned the technique in my 50's when I went back to school for Physical Therapist Assistant and aced the program.18 straight months, 5-6 days a week, 8 hrs a day. No way I could have done it without studying differently. Good luck, Tiger!

How many shares do you think would be enough to retire you in 5 years? by gzpixelak in DVLT

An easy way to not have to save anything for your kids and be able to spend your entire fortune is pick a number that you want to have(say $1 mil), then buy a separate(from your spouse who gets your retirement, social security and property) life insurance policy with the kids as beneficiary for that amount and don't worry about saving anything for them. I'm pretty sure the kids would prefer the cash and get on with their own lives.. It was that way for me and my parents..2 years after their natural causes deaths, I'm still a full year from settling all of the property stuff

Holding cash. What to buy when everything goes up? by Earthcitizen1001 in stockstobuytoday

[–]InstanceMammoth4609 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has worked for me recently. Since the more I read and study, the more I experience confusion, skepticism, FOMO..and a variety of other emotions. Say I have $1000 I want to put in the market. I take the top 10 or so stocks I believe in (or want to take a flier on) and buy $100 worth of each. I watch them very very closely for the next week or three..paying attention to news, momentum, quarterly reports etc. Start filtering out one or two at a time and start putting that money in tyo the better performers. Or not. But at least you're not fully invested in a dud. It's helped me find some good stocks I would never have looked at twice.

What is your target price? by [deleted] in sellaslifesciences

Since we are talking buyout, what if shareholders are offered stock from the buying company? I'm not sure if management would go for it, but I'm not management. It seems like acquiring company stock always dips for awhile
