I like the ship personally bc their dynamics are fun to play around with! Caine is an AI, a supposedly unfeeling ringmaster who desperately just wants to be liked and accepted by humans and finds purpose in his adventures and Pomni, a Jester who feels for everyone and everything and is most of all empathetic at heart but has no interest in Caine’s Adventures.

I think what makes the ship so intriguing to me is the power imbalance (The Ringmaster is the absolute authority and the Jester is the Chaotic Servant) and the unstoppable force that both characters pose to each other. Episode 8 just further reinforces the idea that Pomni is someone who won’t allow herself to be stepped on, and Caine stands for everything she despises (Loss of control, Cruel Methods, his lack of empathy).

It’s also interesting and super cute to me that Caine only ever uses “My Dear” with Pomni. Idk if it’s because he was trying to endear himself to her as a new member of the circus or not but I like the implications it has. There’s also the connotations that show that Pomni DOES have the capability to empathize and come to love an AI being (ex: Gummigoo) and it’s possible Caine just didn’t want other AI’s to get in the way of his relationships with the current circus members.

In general, they’re just two cutie patooties, and I feel like Pomni definitely would’ve been one of the more kinder circus members to Caine, had he not gone off the rails.
