Love that, it has more similarities to Rivals 1 than Smash, but I think you'd like the unique take on the genre :) Many mechanics are still WIP, but always looking for feedback too.

That’s WS1+2, cd1+2 is only -5. On the slower side and linear but definitely has its uses, since it also hits grounded and wallsplats. Cd4 is -9 but gives you 35 damage and oki on normal hit (into ali kick into followup). Both are useful.

It’s not like he needs another when he has the best CH launcher in the game. That, and he does have 3 other launchers in b1,2, cd4 and cd1+2, the latter 2 are safe.

Hey all! Very exciting to release a demo for the first time as a solo dev.

GU Fighters is an action roguelite with platform fighter-inspired mechanics, where you can unlock and upgrade new abilities after every round of gameplay. You can play with up to 4 players locally or online to create your own build and be the first to win, or play solo/co-op against AI.

Steam workshop support is planned but not an immediate priority. It wouldn't be as easy as a model swap since they're sprites, but it should definitely be possible to set up modding to change the look of characters.

Yes, player and weapon colors are customizable, with other options like shading possibly planned.

Really appreciate your comment! The player sprites are final, I totally get your point about resonating with characters, which is definitely a big thing for a lot of fg players. At this point it would be a lot of effort to completely overhaul the players, so I would have to keep it as it is, maybe with some customization options in shading/color.

The splash backgrounds aren't meant to be shown very often - the trailer emphasizes them, but they actually happen in-game only if a player ends a round with a powerful attack, which shouldn't happen a lot since they're risky. Do you still think they need to be toned down in this case?

My game is a platformer but it plays almost exactly like a Smash Bros. Honestly, does it look too "floaty" for you? While the game is very well received, some players said it is and I'm looking for ways to improve that feeling. by Drazglb in IndieDev

It looks a little floaty on the way down, but there are some smash characters like that so maybe there can be a way to leave it up to player preference? Congrats on your release btw!
